The Calgary Stampeders re-signed offensive lineman Bryce Bell to a contract extension on Thursday. Bell was set to become a free agent in February.
Bryce Bell is six foot four and weighs 301 pounds. The 27-year-old from Waterloo, Ontario, dressed for two games in 2025 before a shoulder injury ended his season. Calgary’s offense averaged 24.8 points per game, 375.6 net offense per game, 261.9 passing yards per game, 126.7 rushing yards per game, 44 touchdowns, and allowed 33 sacks. Bell has played 55 games, of which 32 were starts, and he suited up in three playoff games.
The Calgary Stampeders drafted Bell in the second round (11th pick) of the 2021 CFL Draft. In 2022, Bell played 12 games after taking over the starting role after Sean McEwen sustained an injury.
In 2023, Bell played center in 12 games. Calgary’s offense ranked fourth in average points (21.8), sixth in average rushing yards (99.5), seventh in offensive touchdowns (33) and passing yards average (237.0), eighth in net offense average (321.5), and third in sacks allowed (34).
In 2024, Bell played 10 games. Calgary’s offense averaged 21.5 points per game, 354.1 net offense per game, 108.6 rushing yards per game, 260.1 passing yards per game, 40 touchdowns, and allowed 30 sacks.
Collegiately, Bell played four seasons at Wilfrid Laurier University (2016-19), playing 26 games for the Golden Hawks. He is a member of the 2016 Yates Cup championship team and a two-time Glenn Caroll Team of the Year.
