The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed offensive lineman Erik Anderson on Friday.
Erik Andersen is six foot six and weighs 314 pounds. The 24-year-old from London, Ontario, was drafted by the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the second round (13th pick) of the 2025 CFL Draft. Andersen attended the New York Giants rookie minicamp in 2025. The Roughriders signed him on May 11, 2025. Anderson did not play in the preseason and was placed on the retired list as he was returning to school.
Collegiately, Andersen played six seasons at Western University (2020-25), playing left tackle in 46 games for the Mustangs. In 2024, Western averaged 49.5 points per game, 227.8 rushing yards per game, 264.8 passing yards per game, 492.5 total yards per game, and 43 touchdowns, finishing 7-1 for the season.
In 2025, Anderson played nine games. Western averaged 45.1 points per game, 503.5 yards per game, 233.6 passing yards per game, 269.9 rushing yards per game, and 40 touchdowns, finishing 7-1 for the season. Anderson won the J.P. Metras Trophy as the top lineman in Canadian university football.
He was named a three-time First Team U-Sports All-Canadian and was the OUA’s nominee for the J. P. Metras Trophy, which is given annually to the top lineman in U-Sports football.
