The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed wide receiver Daniel Wiebe on Thursday.
Daniel Wiebe is five foot nine and weighs 185 pounds. The 22-year-old from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, was drafted by the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the eighth round (69th pick) of the 2025 CFL Draft. In 2025, he made three catches for 21 yards in one preseason game. He was placed on the retired list on May 31, 2025, as he was returning to school.
Collegiately, Wiebe played five seasons at the University of Saskatchewan (2021-25) with 217 catches for 3,065 yards, 27 touchdowns, five carries for 18 yards, one touchdown, two kick returns for 40 yards, 71 punt returns for 688 yards, seven tackles (6 solos, 1 assist), and 1.5 tackles for loss in 46 games for the Huskies. He was named Most Outstanding Freshman in 2021.
He capped off his collegiate career in 2025 with 78 catches for 1,257 yards, 13 touchdowns, three carries for 11 yards, and three punt returns for 28 yards in 12 games, helping the Huskies win the Mitchell Bowl and appear in the Vanier Cup.
Wiebe was named U Sports First Team All-Canadian for the second straight season, Canada West Football Player of the Year, and a finalist for the Hec Crighton Trophy.
