The Ottawa Redblacks re-signed punter Noah Gettman and signed defensive lineman Dennis Briggs Jr. on Thursday according to the CFL Transactions page.
Noah Gettman is six foot five and weighs 210 pounds. The 25-year-old from Daytona Beach, Florida, signed with the Edmonton Elks on April 20, 2023. The Elks released him on May 13, 2023. Then, he took part in the XFL Specialist Showcase in San Diego, California. The Ottawa Redblacks signed Gettman on November 25, 2024.
In 2025, Gettman punted the ball 14 times for 636 yards (45.4 AVG) with a long of 59 yards in two preseason games. The Redblacks released him on May 31, 2025. He re-signed with the Redblacks on September 17, 2025. Gettman punted the ball six times for 305 yards (50.8 AVG), with a long of 66 yards in one game against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Collegiately, Gettman played four seasons at Sacred Heart (2018-21) punting the ball 200 times for 7,928 yards (39.6 AVG), 19 touchbacks, 65 fair catches, 68 from inside the 20-yard line, 27 from 50-plus yards, one blocked punt, 77 kickoffs for 3,815 yards (49.5 AVG), nine touchbacks, and six kicks that went out of bounds, converted ten of eleven field goals (90.9 %) with his longest field goal for 35 yards in 40 games for the Pioneers.
Gettman was named AFCA Second-Team All-American, Stats Perform Second-Team All-American, First-Team All-NEC, and selected to the FCS ADA All-Star Team in 2021.
Next, he transferred to the University of Akron in 2022 with 61 punts for 2,478 yards (40.6 AVG), five touchbacks, 21 fair catches, 13 from inside the 20-yard line, six punts for 50-plus yards, 22 kickoffs for 1,245 yards (56.6 AVG), six touchbacks, and two kicks that went out of bounds in 12 games for the Zips.
Dennis Briggs Jr. is six foot four and weighs 275 pounds. The 25-year-old from Kissimmee, Florida, attended the Tennessee Titans rookie minicamp in 2025.
Collegiately, Briggs Jr. spent six seasons at Florida State University (2018-23) with 77 tackles (26 solos, 51 assists), nine tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, four pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 49 games for the Seminoles. He graduated with a degree in interdisciplinary social science in May 2022.
Then, he transferred to Illinois in 2024 with a career-high 39 tackles (17 solos, 22 assists), 4.5 tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks in 13 games for the Fighting Illini.
