The Saskatchewan Roughriders re-signed wide receiver D’Sean Mimbs, defensive end Chico Bennett Jr., and defensive back Gideon Agyei on Friday.
D’Sean Mimbs is six foot one and weighs 180 pounds. The 25-year-old from Regina, Saskatchewan, was drafted by the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the sixth round (50th pick) in the 2024 CFL Draft.
He attended training camp before he returned to Regina for the final collegiate season. Mimbs re-signed with the Roughriders on November 25, 2024. In 2025, Mimbs made one catch for five yards in four games. The Roughriders released him on November 17, 2025.
Collegiately, Mimbs played four seasons at the University of Regina (2021-24) with 130 catches for 1,717 yards, 10 touchdowns, two carries for seven yards, 14 kick returns for 287 yards, and two tackles (2 solos) in 32 games for the Rams. He was named the University of Regina’s Male Rookie of the Year in 2021.
In 2023, Mimbs made 30 catches for 460 yards, one touchdown, one carry for two yards, four kick returns for 59 yards, and one tackle (1 solo) in six games. In 2024, Mimbs made 45 catches for 512 yards and two touchdowns in 11 games.
Chico Bennett Jr. is six foot four and weighs 256 pounds. The 24-year-old from Ashburn, Virginia, attended the Philadelphia Eagles rookie minicamp in 2025. The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed Bennett Jr. to the practice squad on September 22, 2025. The Roughriders released him on November 17, 2025.
Collegiately, Bennett Jr. played two seasons at Georgia Tech (2019-20) with 31 tackles (19 solos, 12 assists) and two tackles for loss in 15 games for the Yellow Jackets. Then, he transferred to Virginia (2022-24) with 107 tackles (52 solos, 55 assists), 21 tackles for loss, eight sacks, one interception, three forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 33 games for the Cavaliers.
In 2024, he made 39 tackles (20 solos, 19 assists), eight tackles for loss, one sack, one interception, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 12 games. Bennett Jr. was named an All-ACC Honorable Mention in 2022 and twice made the All-ACC Academic Team.
Gideon Agyei is six foot one and weighs 199 pounds. The 23-year-old from Toronto, Ontario, was drafted by the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the sixth round (52nd pick) of the 2025 CFL Draft. In 2025, he made four tackles and one tackle on special teams in two preseason games. He was placed on the retired list on May 31, 2025, as he was returning to school.
Collegiately, Agyei played five seasons at the University of Calgary (2021-25) with 89 tackles (54 solos, 35 assists), one tackle for loss, two interceptions for 33 yards, one touchdown, and 17 pass breakups in 29 games for the Dinos.
In 2025, Agyei made 30 tackles (22 solos, 8 assists), one tackle for loss, and six pass breakups in eight games. He was named a Canada West All-Star.
