The Montreal Alouettes officially announced they re-signed quarterback E.J. Perry, along with signing wide receiver Giles Jackson, offensive lineman R.J. Perry, defensive lineman Westley Neal Jr., and defensive back Terrence Spence on Friday. Perry re-signed with the team three days ago, while the others had signed future contracts earlier this year.
E.J. Perry is six foot two and weighs 210 pounds. The 27-year-old from Andover, Massachusetts, signed with the Memphis Showboats on February 5, 2025. In 2025, he completed 55 of 94 passes (58.5%) for 598 yards, two touchdowns, five interceptions, 18 carries for 71 yards, and one rushing touchdown in six games.
The Montreal Alouettes signed Perry to the practice squad on October 7, 2025. The Alouettes released him on November 17, 2025. The Alouette re-signed Perry on November 18, 2025.
Perry signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent on May 5, 2022. In 2022, he completed 25 of 48 passes (52.1%) for 293 yards, one touchdown, three interceptions, and two carries for 10 yards in three preseason games. The Jaguars released him on March 7, 2023. He also spent time with the Houston Texans.
The Michigan Panthers signed Perry as a free agent on May 30, 2023. He completed 12 of 23 passes (52.2%) for 121 yards, ten carries for 48 yards, and one touchdown in one game for the Panthers in 2023.
In the North Division Finals, Perry completed 23 of 38 passes (60.5%) for 370 yards, two touchdowns, one interception, seven carries for 22 yards, and one touchdown against the Pittsburgh Maulers. After the season, Perry signed with the Houston Texans. He played one preseason game, completing 7 of 12 passes (58.3%) for 58 yards, and two carries for -3 yards.
Perry initially re-signed with the Panthers on December 19, 2023, but was released a day later to sign an NFL contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars and was placed on the practice squad. He returned to the Panthers on January 21, 2024.
In 2024, Perry completed 55 of 89 passes (61.8%) for 664 yards, two touchdowns, three interceptions, 23 carries for 143 yards, and two touchdowns in four games.
He re-signed with the Panthers on August 10, 2024. The Panthers released him on August 20, 2024, and he signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars on August 21, 2024. He played one preseason game, completing 2 of 2 passes (100%) for four yards, and three carries for -5 yards.
The Jaguars released him on August 29, 2024. The Michigan Panthers re-signed Perry on November 12, 2024, and released him on February 5, 2025.
Collegiately, Perry played two seasons at Boston College (2017-18), completing 27 of 39 passes (69%) for 277 yards, two touchdowns, 20 carries for 70 yards, and one touchdown in 20 games for the Eagles.
Giles Jackson is five foot eight and weighs 187 pounds. The 23-year-old from Antioch, California, signed with the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent on May 4, 2025. In 2025, Jackson made two catches for nine yards in two preseason games. The Eagles released him on August 20, 2025. The Montreal Alouettes signed Jackson to a future contract on October 31, 2025.
Collegiately, Jackson spent two seasons at the University of Michigan (2019-20) with 24 catches for 309 yards (17.2 AVG/G), one touchdown, 12 carries for 74 yards, one rushing touchdown, 37 kick returns for 976 yards, two touchdowns, and five punt returns for 45 yards in 18 games for the Wolverines. He was named Second Team All-Big Ten in 2020.
Then, he transferred to the University of Washington (2021-24) with 135 catches for 1,414 yards (31.4 AVG/G), nine touchdowns, 21 carries for 109 yards, one rushing touchdown, 34 kick returns for 754 yards, 20 punt returns for 136 yards, and three tackles (3 solos) in 38 games for the Huskies. He was named a Preseason All-Pac 12 Honorable Mention in 2023 and Preseason Second Fourth Team All-Pac 12 by Athlon in 2024.
R.J. Perry is six foot six and weighs 330 pounds. The 23-year-old from Fairfield, Alabama, attended the New York Giants rookie minicamp in 2025. The Montreal Alouettes signed Perry to a future contract on September 2, 2025.
Collegiately, Perry played three seasons at Tennessee (2020-22), starting as a defensive lineman before switching to offense. He played left tackle in 13 games for the Vols. In 2022, Tennessee averaged 46.08 points per game, 199.5 rushing yards per game, 326.1 passing yards per game, 525.5 total yards per game, 79 touchdowns, and allowed 27 sacks, finishing 11-2 for the season. They beat Clemson in the Orange Bowl.
Then, he transferred to the University of South Florida (2023-24), playing right tackle, left tackle, and right guard in 23 games for the Bulls. In 2024, South Florida averaged 32.15 points per game, 180.8 rushing yards per game, 227.46 passing yards per game, 408.3 total yards per game, 53 touchdowns, and allowed 36 sacks, finishing 7-6 for the season.
South Florida won the Hawaii Bowl over San Jose State. PFF graded Perry an overall 55.0, 52.0 in run blocking, and 61.4 in pass blocking. Perry also competed in the College Gridiron Classic.
Westley Neal Jr. is six foot and weighs 215 pounds. A native of Miami, Florida, Neal Jr. went undrafted in 2025. The Montreal Alouettes signed Neal Jr. to a future contract on August 31, 2025.
Collegiately, he played four seasons at Rhode Island (2021-24) with 121 tackles (66 solos, 55 assists), 19.5 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, one interception for -5 yards, two pass breakups, and three blocked kicks in 42 games for the Rams. In 2024, he made 41 tackles (22 solos, 19 assists), 6.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, one interception for -5 yards, two pass breakups, and one blocked kick in 14 games. He was invited to play in the Hulu Bowl in 2024.
He was named a two-time Third Team All-CAA by Phil Steele (2023-24), Third Team All-CAA in 2023, First Team All-CAA in 2024, and a Team Captain in 2024.
Terrence Spence is six foot two and weighs 195 pounds. A native of Ringwood, New Jersey, Spence was invited to the New York Giants rookie minicamp in 2025. The Montreal Alouettes signed Spence to a future contract on October 22, 2025.
Collegiately, Spence spent four seasons at Holy Cross (2020-23) with 84 tackles (60 solos, 24 assists), three tackles for loss, four interceptions, 22 pass breakups, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, one blocked kick, one punt return for 20 yards, and one touchdown in 35 games for the Crusaders.
In 2023, he was named Second Team All-Patriot League, Third Team All-Patriot League by Phil Steele, and the Davitt Award as the team’s top defensive back after finishing the season with 52 tackles (38 solos, 14 assists), three tackles for loss, two interceptions, six pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one blocked kick in 11 games.
Then, he transferred to James Madison University in 2024 with 38 tackles (28 solos, 10 assists), a half tackle for loss, five interceptions for 103 yards, one touchdown, 12 pass breakups, one forced fumble, two blocked kicks, and one punt return for 28 yards in 13 games for the Dukes.
Spence was named Second Team All-American by the Football Writers Association of America and HERO Sports Group of Five, Third Team All-American by the College Football Network, First Team All-Sun Belt, First Team All-ECAC, First Team All-State by VaSID, and became the first player in JMU history to be a semifinalist for the Paycom Jim Thorpe Award.
