The Ottawa Redblacks re-signed defensive lineman Deionte Knight and defensive back King Ambers, and placed offensive lineman Parker Moorer on the retired list on Wednesday according to the CFL Transactions page.
Deionte Knight is six foot three and weighs 290 pounds. The 26-year-old from Ajax, Ontario, signed with the Ottawa Redblacks on December 17, 2024. He attended training camp and was released on May 21, 2025. The Redblacks re-signed him on September 2, 2025. In 2025, he made one tackle in three games. He finished the season on the practice squad. The Redblacks released him on October 25, 2025.
The Toronto Argonauts drafted Knight in the second round (10th pick) of the 2022 CFL Draft. He played four games in his rookie season with two tackles as the Argonauts won the 109th Grey Cup over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
In 2023, Knight made 17 tackles, two sacks, and one forced fumble in 17 games. In the 2024 preseason, Knight made one tackle against the Montreal Alouettes. In 2024, Knight played two games, recording no stats. The Argonauts released him on July 3, 2024.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed Knight on July 3, 2024. He made four tackles in 12 games for the Ticats. The Ticats released him on October 26, 2024. The Ottawa Redblacks signed Knight on December 6, 2024.
Collegiately, Knight played four seasons at Western University (2018-21) with 96 tackles (34 solos, 62 assists), 17 tackles for loss, 13.5 sacks, two pass breakups, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, and one touchdown in 28 games for the Mustangs.
In 2021, Knight made 52 tackles (17 solos, 35 assists), 13 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, one pass breakup, two fumble recoveries, and one touchdown in 11 games, helping the Mustangs win the Vanier Cup. He won the J. P. Metras Trophy after the season.
King Ambers is six foot three and weighs 191 pounds. The 25-year-old from Pickering, Ontario, was drafted by the Ottawa Redblacks in the eighth round (68th pick) of the 2025 CFL Draft. In 2025, seven tackles and one interception in nine games. The Redblacks released him on October 25, 2025.
Collegiately, Ambers played four seasons at East Texas A&M University (2021-24) with 59 tackles (35 solos, 24 assists), 4.5 tackles for loss, three interceptions for 13 yards, seven pass breakups, one forced fumble, and two kick returns for 36 yards in 37 games for the Lions.
In 2024, Ambers made 29 tackles (15 solos, 14 assists), one tackle for loss, one interception, two pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 13 games.
Parker Moorer is six foot five and weighs 314 pounds. The 24-year-old from Charlotte, North Carolina, attended the New York Giants rookie minicamp in 2025. The Ottawa Redblacks signed Moorer to the practice squad on June 25, 2025. In 2025, he played right tackle and right guard in eight games.
In 2025, Ottawa’s offense averaged 22.1 points per game, 338.5 net offense per game, 269.3 passing yards per game, 93.6 rushing yards per game, 41 touchdowns, and allowed 47 sacks, finishing 4-14 for the season.
Collegiately, Moorer played three seasons at West Virginia (2019-21), playing 21 games, of which five were starts for the Mountaineers. In 2021, West Virginia averaged 25.23 points per game, 121.5 rushing yards per game, 247.92 passing yards per game, 369.5 total yards per game, 39 touchdowns, and allowed 38 sacks, finishing 6-7 for the season.
Then, he transferred to East Carolina University (2022-24), playing left tackle in 37 games, of which 26 were starts for the Pirates. In 2024, ECU averaged 32 points per game, 172.4 rushing yards per game, 264 passing yards per game, 436.4 total yards per game, 53 touchdowns, and allowed 21 sacks, finishing 8-5 for the season, beating N.C. State in the Military Bowl. Moorer was named Third Team All-AAC by Phil Steele and a College Football Network Honorable Mention.
