The Hamilton Tiger-Cats re-signed wide receiver Myron Mitchell and defensive back Zamari Walton to future contracts starting in 2026 on Monday according to the CFL Transactions page.
Myron Mitchell is six foot one and weighs 180 pounds. The 27-year-old from Jasper, Alabama, signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on April 17, 2024. He dressed for four games in 2024 with no stats. In 2025, he made five catches for 38 yards in two preseason games. The Blue Bombers released him on May 31, 2025. The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed Mitchell to the practice squad on September 9, 2025. The Tiger-Cats released him on November 9, 2025.
The Minnesota Vikings signed Mitchell as an undrafted free agent on May 14, 2021, and spent most of the season on the practice squad. He appeared in one game for the Vikings before being released on August 29, 2022.
The Michigan Panthers on December 13, 2022, and he was traded three days later to the Birmingham Stallions. In 2023, Mitchell was targeted 21 times with 15 catches for 138 yards, one touchdown, and one kick return for 23 yards in 10 games, helping the Stallions win their second consecutive USFL Championship over the Pittsburgh Maulers. The Stallions released him on March 22, 2024.
Collegiately, Mitchell played two seasons at Butler Community College (2016-17) with 42 catches for 510 yards, two touchdowns, one carry for three yards, eight kick returns for 135 yards, five punt returns for 24 yards, and three tackles (1 solo, 2 assists) in 19 games for the Grizzlies.
Then, Mitchell transferred to the University of Alabama-Birmingham (2019-20) with 63 catches for 990 yards, seven touchdowns, two carries for 13 yards, 23 kick returns for 497 yards, one touchdown, 18 punt returns for 78 yards, and two tackles (2 solos) in 23 games for the Blazers.
Zamari Walton is six foot three and weighs 185 pounds. The 26-year-old from Melbourne, Florida, signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on January 14, 2025. In 2025, he made seven tackles in two preseason games. Walton appeared in two regular-season games with seven tackles. The Tiger-Cats released him on November 9, 2025.
The Los Angeles Chargers signed Walton as an undrafted free agent on May 10, 2024. In 2024, Walton made two tackles (1 solo, 1 assist) and one pass breakup in three preseason games. The Chargers released him on August 27, 2024.
Collegiately, Walton played five seasons at Georgia Tech (2018-22) with 125 tackles (87 solos, 38 assists), three tackles for loss, one sack, three interceptions for six yards, 17 pass breakups, one fumble recovery, and one touchdown in 48 games for the Yellow Jackets. He was named an All-SEC Honorable Mention.
Then, Walton transferred to Ole Miss in 2023 with 38 tackles (23 solos, 15 assists), 3.5 tackles for loss, two interceptions, nine pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 13 games for the Rebels. He was named an All-SEC Honorable Mention and participated in the 2024 Hula Bowl.
