Hamilton Tiger-Cats release 11 players from the practice squad

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats released running back Kevin Brown, wide receivers Shedler Fervius, Kelvontay “Moochie” Dixon, and Myron Mitchell, defensive linemen Phillip Webb and Kail Dava, linebackers Ryan Meed and Daniel Kwamou, defensive back Zamari Walton, kicker Michael Domagala, and punter Josh Green from the practice squad on Sunday according to the CFL Transactions page. These players were released after Hamilton’s season ended on Saturday.

Kevin Brown is five foot nine and weighs 205 pounds. The 29-year-old from Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, signed with the Toronto Argonauts on December 13, 2024. In 2025, he had two carries for six yards and one catch for 13 yards in one preseason game.

The Argonauts released him on May 31, 2025, and he re-signed with them on June 17, 2025. Brown had 18 carries for 37 yards, one rushing touchdown, and five catches for 32 yards in three games. The Argonauts released him on July 15, 2025.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed Brown to the practice squad on August 5, 2025. He appeared in one game with two carries for 13 yards against the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The Edmonton Elks signed Brown on November 22, 2022. He played three seasons in Edmonton with 361 carries for 2,149 yards, 5 touchdowns, 74 catches for 536 yards, and one touchdown in 37 games. In 2024, he had 101 carries for 522 yards and 22 catches for 138 yards in 12 games. The Elks released Brown on October 26, 2024.

Collegiately, Brown played two seasons at Highland Community College (2017-18) with 182 carries for 1,130 yards, 8 touchdowns, 24 catches for 91 yards, two touchdowns, and two tackles (2 solo) in 14 games for the Scotties. He was named Second Team All-KJCCC in 2018.

Then, Brown transferred to Incarnate Word (2019-21) with 353 carries for 2,451 yards, 20 touchdowns, 66 catches for 623 laps, and four touchdowns in 31 games for the Cardinals. He was named First Team All-Southland Conference.

Shedler Fervius is six foot one and weighs 190 pounds. The 26-year-old from Scarborough, Ontario, played in two preseason games with no stats in 2025. He spent three weeks on the practice squad. The Alouettes released him on June 23, 2025. The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed Fervius to the practice squad on August 31, 2025.

The Montreal Alouettes drafted Fervius in the fifth round (41st pick) in the 2023 CFL Draft. In 2023, he played in four games with no stats. In 2024, he made seven catches for 87 yards in 12 games.

Collegiately, Fervius played three seasons at St. Mary’s University (2018-19, 2021) with 59 catches for 702 yards, one touchdown, 14 carries for 126 yards, 47 kick returns for 992 yards, one touchdown, four tackles (4 solos), and one forced fumble in 18 games for the Huskies. He played in the 2022 East-West Bowl.

Kelvontay “Moochie” Dixon is six foot and weighs 187 pounds. The 24-year-old from Carthage, Texas, signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent on May 9, 2025. In 2025, he had one kick return for 16 yards in one preseason game. The Saints released him on August 25, 2025. The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed Dixon to the practice squad on October 29, 2025.

Collegiately, Dixon played two seasons at Texas (2020-21) with 12 catches for 176 yards, one touchdown, and two tackles (2 solos) in 15 games for the Longhorns. Then, he transferred to Southern Methodist University (2022-24) with 74 catches for 1,205 yards, eight touchdowns, two carries for one yard, four kick returns for 80 yards, two punt returns for 39 yards, and two tackles (2 solos) in 40 games for the Mustangs.

Myron Mitchell is six foot one and weighs 180 pounds. The 27-year-old from Jasper, Alabama, signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on April 17, 2024. He dressed for four games in 2024 with no stats. In 2025, he made five catches for 38 yards in two preseason games. The Blue Bombers released him on May 31, 2025. The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed Mitchell to the practice squad on September 9, 2025.

The Minnesota Vikings signed Mitchell as an undrafted free agent on May 14, 2021, and spent most of the season on the practice squad. He appeared in one game for the Vikings before being released on August 29, 2022.

The Michigan Panthers on December 13, 2022, and he was traded three days later to the Birmingham Stallions. In 2023, Mitchell was targeted 21 times with 15 catches for 138 yards, one touchdown, and one kick return for 23 yards in 10 games, helping the Stallions win their second consecutive USFL Championship over the Pittsburgh Maulers. The Stallions released him on March 22, 2024.

Collegiately, Mitchell played two seasons at Butler Community College (2016-17) with 42 catches for 510 yards, two touchdowns, one carry for three yards, eight kick returns for 135 yards, five punt returns for 24 yards, and three tackles (1 solo, 2 assists) in 19 games for the Grizzlies.

Then, Mitchell transferred to the University of Alabama-Birmingham (2019-20) with 63 catches for 990 yards, seven touchdowns, two carries for 13 yards, 23 kick returns for 497 yards, one touchdown, 18 punt returns for 78 yards, and two tackles (2 solos) in 23 games for the Blazers.

Phillip Webb is six foot five and weighs 265 pounds. The 24-year-old from Atlanta, Georgia, attended the Miami Dolphins rookie minicamp in 2025. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers signed Webb on May 16, 2025. In 2025, he made one tackle and one fumble recovery in two preseason games. The Blue Bombers released him on May 31, 2025. The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed Webb to the practice squad on July 24, 2025.

Collegiately, Webb played two seasons at LSU (2020-21) with one tackle (1 assist) in three games for the Tigers. Then, he transferred to Jackson State (2023-24) with 63 tackles (35 solos, 28 assists), 16 tackles for loss, six sacks, two pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 25 games for the Tigers. In 2024, Webb made 41 tackles (21 solos, 20 assists), 10 tackles for loss, three sacks, one pass breakup, and one forced fumble in 14 games.

Kail Dava is six foot three and weighs 281 pounds. The 25-year-old from Barrie, Ontario, was drafted by the B.C. Lions in the fifth round (44th pick) of the 2024 CFL Draft. He spent the 2024 season on the B.C. Lions practice squad. The Lions released him on August 28, 2024.

The Calgary Stampeders signed Dava on the same day. In 2024, he made three tackles in eight games. In 2025, Dava made one tackle and one sack in two preseason games. The Stampeders released him on May 31, 2025. The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed Dava to the practice squad on October 29, 2025.

Collegiately, Dava played five seasons at Tennessee Tech (2019-23) with 87 tackles (41 solo, 46 assists), 24.5 tackles for loss, 8 sacks, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, and one pass breakup in 48 games for the Golden Eagles. In 2023, Dava made 15 tackles (8 solo, 7 assists), 5.5 tackles for loss, and half a sack in 9 games.

In 2019, he was named to the Phil Steele FCS Freshman All-American after finishing the season making 17 tackles (6 solo, 11 assists), four tackles for loss, and four sacks in 11 games.

Ryan Meed is six foot one and weighs 230 pounds. The 24-year-old from Brooklyn, New York, attended the Philadelphia Eagles rookie minicamp in 2025. The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed Meed to the practice squad on September 16, 2025. Meed appeared in one game against the Calgary Stampeders with one tackle on special teams.

Collegiately, Meed played six seasons at Illinois (2019-24) with 65 tackles (34 solos, 31 assists), two tackles for loss, one pass breakup, one forced fumble, and one blocked kick in 53 games for the Fighting Illini. In 2024, he was a Campbell Trophy semifinalist, as one of the top candidates for the nation’s “Academic Heisman”.

Daniel Kwamou is six foot and weighs 224 pounds. The 25-year-old from Calgary, Alberta, made one tackle and two tackles on special teams in two preseason games. In the regular season, Kwamou made two tackles on special teams in four games. The Argonauts released him on July 15, 2025. The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed Kwamou to the practice squad on July 23, 2025. Kwamou appeared in three games with three tackles on special teams.

The Toronto Argonauts drafted Kwamou in the fifth round (44th pick) of the 2022 CFL Draft. He was released at the end of training camp to return to UBC for his final season. The Argonauts re-signed him on June 3, 2023.

In 2023, he made six tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in one preseason game. In the regular season, he made eight tackles on special teams in nine games. In 2024, he missed the season due to an injury when they won the 111th Grey Cup.

Collegiately, Kwamou played four seasons at the University of British Columbia (2018-19, 2021-22) with 108 tackles (64 solos, 44 assists), 5.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, one interception, and three pass breakups in 26 games for the Thunderbirds.

Zamari Walton is six foot three and weighs 185 pounds. The 26-year-old from Melbourne, Florida, signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on January 14, 2025. In 2025, he made seven tackles in two preseason games. Walton appeared in two regular-season games with seven tackles.

The Los Angeles Chargers signed Walton as an undrafted free agent on May 10, 2024. In 2024, Walton made two tackles (1 solo, 1 assist) and one pass breakup in three preseason games. The Chargers released him on August 27, 2024.

Collegiately, Walton played five seasons at Georgia Tech (2018-22) with 125 tackles (87 solos, 38 assists), three tackles for loss, one sack, three interceptions for six yards, 17 pass breakups, one fumble recovery, and one touchdown in 48 games for the Yellow Jackets. He was named an All-SEC Honorable Mention.

Then, Walton transferred to Ole Miss in 2023 with 38 tackles (23 solos, 15 assists), 3.5 tackles for loss, two interceptions, nine pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 13 games for the Rebels. He was named an All-SEC Honorable Mention and participated in the 2024 Hula Bowl.

Michael Domagala is five foot nine and weighs 202 pounds. The 30-year-old from St. Catharines, Ontario, signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on October 29, 2025. He spent the remaining season on the practice squad.

Domagala signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on December 18, 2018. Domagala played two seasons in Hamilton. Domagala made 19 of 26 field goals (73.1%), converted 12 of 15 extra points, and had 90 punts for 3,996 yards in 23 games.

In 2022, Domagala made 12 of 16 field goals (75%), converting four of five extra points, and 65 punts for 2,910 yards in 17 games for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

Domagala signed with the Elks on February 16, 2023, and played in two preseason games with five punts for 202 yards before he was released on June 4, 2023. Domagala signed with the Ottawa Redblacks on September 19, 2023, after kicker Lewis Ward’s season ended with a torn pectoral muscle.

Domagala converted eight of nine field goals with a long of 46 yards, made eight extra points, and made one tackle in five games. The Redblacks released Domagala on May 7, 2024, and re-signed him five days later. However, the Redblacks released him again on May 15, 2024. He would re-sign with the Redblacks on May 18, 2024, but was released on May 28, 2024.

The Montreal Alouettes signed Domagala on July 9, 2024, and he was placed on the practice squad. The Alouettes released him on September 4, 2024.

Collegiately, Domagala played six seasons at Carleton University (2013-18), making 73 of 96 field goals (76%), converting 132 field goals, and 347 punts for 13,474 yards in 42 games for the Ravens.

Josh Green is six foot one and weighs 216 pounds. The 28-year-old from Adelaide, Australia, was drafted by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the first round (8th pick) of the 2025 CFL Global Draft. In 2025, he punted the ball 11 times for 519 yards (47.18 AVG) with a long of 72 yards in two preseason games. The Ticats released him on May 31, 2025. The Tiger-Cats re-signed Green to the practice squad on July 16, 2025.

Collegiately, Green played one season at Laney College in 2019, punting the ball 41 times for 1,560 yards (38.0 AVG), with a long of 59 yards, 11 from inside the 20-yard line, 10 fair catches, and four touchbacks in 11 games for the Eagles.

Then, he transferred to Oregon State (2022-24) punting the ball 66 times for 2,947 yards (44.7 AVG), with a long of 68 yards, seven touchbacks, 21 fair catches, 27 from inside the 20-yard line, and 20 from 50-plus yards in 29 games for the Beavers.

In 2024, he punted the ball 33 times for 1,559 yards (47.2 AVG), with a long of 68 yards, three touchbacks, 11 fair catches, 15 from inside the 20-yard line, and 16 from 50-plus yards in 12 games for the Oregon State Beavers. His 47.2 yards per punt set the Oregon State single-season record.
