The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed defensive back D’Angelo Mandell to a future contract that starts in 2026 on Monday according to the CFL Transactions page.
D’Angelo Mandell is six foot one and weighs 192 pounds. The 26-year-old from San Diego, California, signed with the St. Louis Battlehawks on August 30, 2024. He attended training camp and was released on March 20, 2025.
The Dallas Cowboys signed Mandell as an undrafted free agent on May 12, 2023. He made seven tackles (4 solos, 3 assists) and one pass breakup in three preseason games. The Cowboys released him on August 29, 2023, and he signed with the Washington Commanders on January 2, 2024. The Commanders released him on May 7, 2024.
Collegiately, Mandell played five seasons at BYU (2018-22) with 90 tackles (56 solos, 34 assists), four tackles for loss, and six pass breakups in 56 games for the Cougars. His career best season for BYU came in 2021 with 36 tackles (25 solos, 11 assists), one tackle for loss, and four pass breakups in 13 games.
