The Montreal Alouettes signed defensive lineman Decarius Hawthorne to the practice squad on Wednesday.
Decarius Hawthorne is six foot two and weighs 290 pounds. A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Hawthorne signed with the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent on June 10, 2025. In 2025, he made two tackles (1 solo, 1 assist) in three preseason games. The Rams released him on August 24, 2025.
Collegiately, Hawthorne played three seasons at Florida Atlantic University (2021-23) with 46 tackles (18 solos, 28 assists), 13.5 tackles for loss, and five sacks in 32 games for the Owls.
Then, he transferred to the University of South Florida in 2024, where he was named Second Team All-AAC by the coaches and Phil Steele. He made 40 tackles (18 solos, 22 assists), 10.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, two passes defended, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 13 games for the Bulls.
