Hamilton Tiger-Cats sign Kicker Michael Domagala, two others to practice squad

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed wide receiver Kelvontay “Moochie” Dixon, defensive tackle Kail Dava, and kicker Michael Domagala to the practice squad on Wednesday.

Kelvontay “Moochie” Dixon is six foot and weighs 187 pounds. The 24-year-old from Carthage, Texas, signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent on May 9, 2025. In 2025, he had one kick return for 16 yards in one preseason game. The Saints released him on August 25, 2025.

Collegiately, Dixon played two seasons at Texas (2020-21) with 12 catches for 176 yards, one touchdown, and two tackles (2 solos) in 15 games for the Longhorns. Then, he transferred to Southern Methodist University (2022-24) with 74 catches for 1,205 yards, eight touchdowns, two carries for one yard, four kick returns for 80 yards, two punt returns for 39 yards, and two tackles (2 solos) in 40 games for the Mustangs.

Kail Dava is six foot three and weighs 281 pounds. The 25-year-old from Barrie, Ontario, was drafted by the B.C. Lions in the fifth round (44th pick) of the 2024 CFL Draft. He spent the 2024 season on the B.C. Lions practice squad. The Lions released him on August 28, 2024.

The Calgary Stampeders signed Dava on the same day. In 2024, he made three tackles in eight games. In 2025, Dava made one tackle and one sack in two preseason games. The Stampeders released him on May 31, 2025.

Collegiately, Dava played five seasons at Tennessee Tech (2019-23) with 87 tackles (41 solo, 46 assists), 24.5 tackles for loss, 8 sacks, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, and one pass breakup in 48 games for the Golden Eagles. In 2023, Dava made 15 tackles (8 solo, 7 assists), 5.5 tackles for loss, and half a sack in 9 games.

In 2019, he was named to the Phil Steele FCS Freshman All-American after finishing the season making 17 tackles (6 solo, 11 assists), four tackles for loss, and four sacks in 11 games.

Michael Domagala is five foot nine and weighs 202 pounds. The 30-year-old from St. Catharines, Ontario, signed with the Montreal Alouettes on July 9, 2024, and was placed on the practice squad. The Alouettes released him on September 4, 2024.

Domagala signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on December 18, 2018. Domagala played two seasons in Hamilton. Domagala made 19 of 26 field goals (73.1%), converted 12 of 15 extra points, and had 90 punts for 3,996 yards in 23 games.

In 2022, Domagala made 12 of 16 field goals (75%), converting four of five extra points, and 65 punts for 2,910 yards in 17 games for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

Domagala signed with the Elks on February 16, 2023, and played in two preseason games with five punts for 202 yards before he was released on June 4, 2023. Domagala signed with the Ottawa Redblacks on September 19, 2023, after kicker Lewis Ward’s season ended with a torn pectoral muscle.

Domagala converted eight of nine field goals with a long of 46 yards, made eight extra points, and made one tackle in five games. The Redblacks released Domagala on May 7, 2024, and re-signed him five days later. However, the Redblacks released him again on May 15, 2024. He would re-sign with the Redblacks on May 18, 2024, but was released on May 28, 2024.

Collegiately, Domagala played six seasons at Carleton University (2013-18), making 73 of 96 field goals (76%), converting 132 field goals, and 347 punts for 13,474 yards in 42 games for the Ravens.
