The NASCAR Cup Series visited Martinsville Speedway on Sunday afternoon in the Xfinity 500. William Byron started the race on the pole with Ty Gibbs starting second.
William Byron dominated the race, leading a race-high 304 laps, including sweeping the stages, and passing Ryan Blaney to lead the final 44 laps to win his third race of the season by 0.717 seconds. Ryan Blaney led 177 laps and finished in second place; Chase Elliott, Ross Chastain, and Kyle Larson rounded out the top five.
Ryan Preece, Christopher Bell, Joey Logano, Todd Gilliland, and Josh Berry completed the top ten. There were seven lead changes among five drivers, and 10 cautions for 78 laps. Some of the drivers experience engine issues, including Denny Hamlin, Chase Briscoe, and Riley Herbst.
William Byron, Chase Briscoe, Denny Hamlin, and Kyle Larson will be the four drivers competing for the championship. The Cup Series concludes the 2025 season from Phoenix Raceway next Sunday at 3 pm on NBC.
