The Rutgers Scarlet Knights (4-4, 14) visited Ross-Ade Stadium on Saturday afternoon against the Purdue Boilermakers (2-6, 0-5). Rutgers’s offense had 543 yards (359 yards passing, 184 yards rushing), 22 first downs, and the team was penalized four times for 46 yards in a 27-24 win over the Boilermakers. The win snaps a four-game losing streak.
Rutgers quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis completed 19 of 27 passes (70.3%) for 359 yards, one touchdown, 11 carries for -10 yards, and one rushing touchdown. Running back Antwan Raymond had 29 carries for 116 yards, one rushing touchdown, and two catches for 18 yards.
Wide receiver K.J. Duff made six catches for 241 yards and one touchdown, while Ben Black made four catches for 56 yards. Kicker Jai Patel made 2 of 3 field goals with a long of 30 yards and three extra points. The defense allowed 345 yards (128 yards passing, 217 yards rushing), 14 first downs, with 50 tackles, three tackles for loss, and one fumble recovery.
