Rutgers struggles in a blowout loss to Oregon

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights (3-4, 0-4) hosted the Oregon Ducks (6-1, 3-1) on Saturday night from SHI Stadium. Rutgers’s offense had 202 yards (79 yards passing, 123 yards rushing), 12 first downs, and the team was penalized four times for 25 yards in a 56-10 loss to the Ducks. It was the Scarlet Knights’ fourth straight loss. They remain winless in the Big Ten.

Quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis completed 8 of 25 passes (32%) for 79 yards, two interceptions, and six carries for -1 yard. Running back Ja’shon Benjamin had 18 carries for 69 yards and one rushing touchdown.

Wide receiver K.J. Duff made three catches for 41 yards, while D.T. Sheffield made three catches for 26 yards. The defense allowed 750 yards (335 yards passing, 425 yards rushing), 29 first downs, 56 tackles, and two tackles for loss.

The Scarlet Knights will look to end the four-game losing streak next Saturday against Purdue at 12 pm on the Big Ten Network.
