
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers signed offensive lineman Ben Dooley and defensive end De’Shaan Dixon to the practice squad on Monday according to the CFL Transactions page.
Ben Dooley is six foot five and weighs 320 pounds. The 24-year-old from Fallon, Nevada, signed with the Los Angeles Chargers as an undrafted free agent on May 12, 2025. In 2025, he played in three preseason games. The Rams released him on August 24, 2025.
Collegiately, Dooley spent six seasons at Boise State (2019-24), playing left guard, right guard, and right tackle in 45 games for the Broncos. In 2024, he started 14 games at left guard. Boise State averaged 37.29 points per game, 240.4 rushing yards per game, 225.64 passing yards per game, 466 yards per game, 69 touchdowns, and allowed 15 sacks, finishing 12-2 for the season.
Dooley allowed one sack in 428 opportunities. He was named Second Team All-Mountain West in 2023, First Team All-Mountain West in 2024, First Team All-Mountain West by Phil Steele in 2024, Third Team All-American by College Football Network, and a five-time Academic All-Mountain West (Fall 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024).
De’Shaan Dixon is six foot five and weighs 247 pounds. The 26-year-old from Chesapeake, Virginia, signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent on May 5, 2022. Dixon made 10 tackles (4 solos, 6 assists), one sack, and one pass breakup in six preseason games. He would appear in three regular-season games with one tackle (1 assist). Dixon was on injured reserve in 2024 and was released on August 9, 2024.
Collegiately, Dixon played five seasons at Norfolk State (2017-21) with 154 tackles (69 solos, 65 assists), 24.5 tackles for loss, 14.5 sacks, 10 pass breakups, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, and one kick return for 11 yards in 42 games for the Spartans. He was named First Team All-MEAC in 2021 and Third Team All-MEAC in 2019.
