Penn State’s downfall continues with a loss to Northwestern

The Penn State Nittany Lions (3-3, 0-3) hosted the Northwestern Wildcats (4-2, 2-1) on Saturday at Beaver Stadium. The Nittany Lions had 274 yards (137 yards passing, 137 yards rushing), 13 first downs, and the team was penalized six times for 71 yards in a 22-21 loss to the Wildcats.

Quarterback Drew Allar completed 13 of 20 passes (65%) for 137 yards, one interception, six carries for 25 yards, and one rushing touchdown before suffering a season-ending injury in the fourth quarter.

Running back Kaytron Allen had 16 carries for 90 yards and one rushing touchdown, while Nicholas Singleton had seven carries for 20 yards and one rushing touchdown. Wide receiver Devonte Ross made seven catches for 115 yards, while Kyron Hudson made one catch for 10 yards. The defense made 63 tackles, two tackles for loss, two sacks, and two pass breakups.

Penn State visits Iowa next Saturday at 7:30 pm on Peacock.
