The Dallas Renegades signed linebacker Brandon Smith on Wednesday according to James Larsen.
Brandon Smith is six foot three and weighs 240 pounds. The 24-year-old from Louisa, Virginia, was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the fourth round (120th pick) in the 2022 NFL Draft. He also spent time with the Philadelphia Eagles, New York Jets, and the Las Vegas Raiders. Smith made nine tackles (6 solos, 3 assists) in 14 regular-season games.
Collegiately, Smith played three seasons at Penn State (2019-21) with 132 tackles (68 solos, 64 assists), 19 tackles for loss, four sacks, seven pass breakups, one interception, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 34 games for the Nittany Lions. Smith was named Third Team All-Big Ten.
