
The Arlington Renegades re-signed running back Dae Dae Hunter, wide receiver JaVonta Payton, offensive lineman Marcus Minor, and long snapper Antonio Ortiz on Monday according to James Larsen.
Dae Dae Hunter is five foot ten and weighs 194 pounds. The 23-year-old from Denver, Colorado, re-signed with the Arlington Renegades on October 2, 2024. In 2025, Hunter had 113 carries for 406 yards, two rushing touchdowns, 28 catches for 231 yards, and three kick returns for 55 yards in 10 games.
The Arlington Renegades signed Hunter on December 11, 2023. In 2024, Hunter had 15 carries for 74 yards, one touchdown, and one catch for nine yards in three games before being placed on injured reserve and missing the rest of the season.
Collegiately, Hunter played two seasons at Hawaii (2020-21) with 147 carries for 834 yards, five touchdowns, 31 catches for 234 yards, two touchdowns, one kick return for 22 yards, and one tackle (1 solo) in 19 games for the Rainbow Warriors.
Then, Hunter transferred to Liberty in 2022 with 130 carries for 854 yards, eight touchdowns, 18 catches for 149 yards, one touchdown, one kick return for 19 yards, and three tackles (3 solo) in nine games for the Flames.
JaVonta Payton is six foot one and weighs 180 pounds. The 27-year-old from Nashville, Tennessee, signed with the Arlington Renegades on January 24, 2025. In 2025, he made 22 catches for 230 yards, one touchdown, four carries for 53 yards, and one rushing touchdown in 10 games.
The Arizona Cardinals signed Payton as an undrafted free agent on May 13, 2022. He played three preseason games, making one catch for nine yards against the Tennessee Titans.
Next, Payton signed with the Orlando Guardians on January 20, 2023. He played three games for the Guardians, making three catches for 47 yards before being traded to the Arlington Renegades.
In Arlington, Payton made eight catches for 117 yards in six games, helping Arlington win the 2023 XFL Championship over the D.C. Defenders. In 2024, Payton made 23 catches for 379 yards, five touchdowns, five carries for 34 yards, and one touchdown in nine games before he missed the last game due to an injury.
Collegiately, Payton played two seasons at Northwest Mississippi Community College (2017-18) with 67 catches for 840 yards, 11 touchdowns, one carry for 12 yards, and one tackle (1 solo) in 21 games for the Rangers.
Next, Payton transferred to Mississippi State (2019-20) with 28 catches for 372 yards, one touchdown, one carry for 11 yards, 10 kick returns for 203 yards, and 20 tackles (13 solos, 7 assists) in 22 games for the Bulldogs.
Then, Payton transferred to Tennessee in 2021 with 18 catches for 413 yards, six touchdowns, and one carry for -2 yards in 13 games for the Volunteers.
Marcus Minor is six foot four and weighs 310 pounds. The 27-year-old from Lanham, Maryland, re-signed with the Arlington Renegades on October 1, 2024. In 2025, Minor played 10 games, of which nine were starts. Arlington averaged 22.9 points per game, 322.1 total yards per game, 230 yards per game, 92.1 rushing yards per game, and allowed 23 sacks, finishing 5-5 for the season.
Minor attended the Baltimore Ravens Rookie minicamp in 2023. Then, Minor signed with the Houston Roughnecks (XFL) on October 24, 2023. However, the Roughnecks were not included in the XFL and USFL merger, forming the United Football League (UFL), but the brand was transferred to the Houston Gamblers as part of their rebrand.
The Arlington Renegades drafted Minor in the 2024 UFL Dispersal Draft. He started nine games for the Renegades in 2024. Arlington’s offense ranked second in total yards (3,119), passing yards (2,277), yards per game (311.9), sixth in rushing (842), and tied third for touchdowns (27).
Collegiately, Minor played four seasons at Maryland (2017-20), playing right guard and right tackle in 26 games for the Terrapins. In 2020, Maryland’s offense helped Taulia Tagovailoa, who threw for 676 passing yards in the two wins against Minnesota and Penn State, the most passing yards in back-to-back wins since Scott Milanovich in 1994.
Then, he transferred to Pittsburgh (2021-22), playing left guard in 26 games for the Panthers. In 2021, Pittsburgh’s offense averaged a school-record 41.4 points and 486.6 yards per game. He was named First Team All-ACC in 2022.
Antonio Ortiz is six foot four and weighs 247 pounds. The 25-year-old from Mechanicsville, Virginia, re-signed with the Arlington Renegades on September 27, 2024. In 2025, Ortiz started 10 games. Ortiz helped kicker Lucas Havrisk make 22 of 25 field goals (88%) with a long of 54 yards, and punter Marquette King punting the ball 36 times for 1,709 yards (47.5 AVG), with a long of 69 yards, and five touchbacks.
Ortiz signed with the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent on May 9, 2022. He was released on July 13, 2022. The Arlington Renegades drafted Ortiz in the second round (16th pick) in Phase 5 of the 2023 XFL Draft.
He played 9 games, helping kicker Taylor Russolino make 16 of 19 field goals (84.2%) and punter Marquette King made 40 punts for 1,858 yards (46.4 AVG) as the Renegades won the XFL Championship over the D.C. Defenders.
Ortiz re-signed with the Arlington Renegades on January 22, 2024. In 2024, he played ten games. Ortiz helped kicker Jonathan Garibay finish sixth field goals (13 of 18 (92.9%)), with a long of 48 yards, Taylor Russolino made 5 of 6 field goals (83.3%) with a long of 52 yards finishing last in the league, and punter Marquette King finished sixth in punting yards with 28 punts for 1,358 yards (48.5 AVG).
Collegiately, Ortiz played four seasons at TCU (2018-21), making two tackles (2 solos) in 44 games for the Horned Frogs. He was named a three-time First Team Academic All-Big 12.
