
The NASCAR Cup Series visited the Charlotte Motor Speedway Road Course on Sunday in the Bank of America ROVAL 400. Tyler Reddick started the race on the pole, with Shane van Gisbergen starting second.
Shane van Gisbergen led a race-high 57 laps, including winning the first stage on his way to winning his fifth race of the season by 15.160 seconds over Kyle Larson. Gisbergen became the second driver in NASCAR history to win five road course races, joining Jeff Gordon. Christopher Bell, Chris Buescher, and Michael McDowell wrapped up the top five.
Ryan Preece, Daniel Suarez, Chase Elliott, A.J. Allmendinger, and Tyler Reddick completed the top ten. There were 15 lead changes among six drivers. Ryan Blaney led four laps, which included winning the second stage. There were three cautions for ten laps.
The drivers who advanced to the Round of 8 playoffs are Chase Elliott, Ryan Blaney, Denny Hamlin, Christopher Bell, Kyle Larson, William Byron, and Joey Logano.
The Round of 8 playoffs begin next Sunday from Las Vegas Motor Speedway at 5:30 pm on USA Network.
