The Birmingham Stallions signed linebacker Michael Barrett on Friday according to James Larsen.

Michael Barrett is five foot eleven and weighs 230 pounds. The 25-year-old from Valdosta, Georgia, was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the seventh round (240th pick) of the 2024 NFL Draft. In 2024, he made five tackles (3 solos, 2 assists) in three preseason games. He was traded to the Seattle Seahawks on August 22, 2024. The Seahawks released him on September 10, 2024.

He also spent time with the Cleveland Browns and Green Bay Packers. The Las Vegas Raiders signed Barrett on May 21, 2025. In 2025, he made seven tackles (2 solos, 5 assists) and half a sack in three preseason games. The Raiders released him on August 25, 2025.

Collegiately, Barrett played five seasons at Michigan (2019-23) with 208 tackles (116 solos, 92 assists), 12.5 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, two interceptions for 52 yards, one touchdown, six pass breakups, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, two carries for 17 yards, completed one pass for 25 yards, and five kick returns for 122 yards in 61 games for the Wolverines.

He was named Third Team All-Big Ten and All-Big Ten Honorable Mention. He was a recipient of the team’s Roger Zatkoff Award and helped Michigan win the 2024 CFP National Championship.
