Report: Houston Roughnecks sign offensive lineman Chaz Neal

The Houston Roughnecks signed offensive lineman Chaz Neal on Tuesday according to Michael Del Negro.

Chaz Neal is six foot nine and weighs 315 pounds. A native of Tampa, Florida, Neal attended the New York Giants rookie minicamp in 2024. The Jacksonville Sharks signed Neal on February 6, 2025. Jacksonville averaged 45.06 points per game, 111.4 rushing yards per game, 126.6 passing yards per game, and allowed 14.87 sacks per game to finish 10-7 for the season.

Collegiately, Neal spent three seasons at Florida State (2018-20), playing on the offensive line and special teams in 19 games for the Seminoles. Then, he transferred to Florida Atlantic University (2021-23), playing right tackle in 35 games for the Owls.

In 2023, Florida Atlantic averaged 23.75 points per game, 115.4 rushing yards per game, 215.5 passing yards per game, 330.9 total yards per game, 38 touchdowns, and allowed 30 sacks to finish 4-8 for the season. He was named First Team All-AAC by Phil Steele and Third Team All-ACC by Athlon Sports.
