The NASCAR Xfinity Series visited Kansas Speedway on Saturday afternoon in the Kansas Lottery 300. Brandon Jones started the race on the pole, with Taylor Gray starting second.

Brandon Jones led 54 laps, including the final 38 laps, to win his second race of the season by 2.787 seconds over Connor Zilisch. It was Jones’s seventh-career Xfinity Series win. Austin Hill, Sammy Smith, and Sheldon Creed rounded out the top five. Taylor Gray, Jesse Love, Nick Sanchez, Brendan Queen, and Dean Thompson completed the top ten.

The turning point of the race happened on lap 157 when Justin Bonsignore and Nick Sanchez got together to bring out the fourth caution of the race. During the pit stops, Justin Allgaier stayed out on older tires with 39 laps to go to keep the lead, while the others went to pit road. It would cost him as he fell to 13th place on the restart. Allgaier led a race-high 79 laps.

There were 16 lead changes among seven drivers. Connor Zilisch led 42 laps. His second-place finish made it his 16th consecutive race to finish in the top five, breaking Sam Ard’s record.

The Xfinity Series heads to Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval next Saturday at 5 pm on The CW.
