The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed linebacker Demouy Kennedy to a future contract that begins in 2026 on Sunday according to the CFL Transactions page.

Demouy Kennedy is six foot three and weighs 215 pounds. A native of Theodore, Alabama, Kennedy went undrafted in 2025.

Collegiately, Kennedy spent three seasons at Alabama (2020-22) playing on special teams, running back, and linebacker. He had seven carries for 16 yards and eight tackles (3 solos, 5 assists) in 24 games for the Crimson Tide. In 2022, he made one tackle (1 assist) in five games before suffering a season-ending knee injury. He was part of two Alabama championship teams in 2020 and 2021.

Then, he transferred to Colorado in 2023 with 13 tackles (4 solos, 9 assists), and two tackles for loss in 11 games for the Buffaloes. He entered the transfer portal after the season, but did not play in 2024.
