The Edmonton Elks signed defensive lineman Gavin Meyer and linebacker Xander Mueller to the practice squad, and released defensive lineman Eli Mostaert from the practice squad on Tuesday.

Gavin Meyer is six foot three and weighs 290 pounds. A native of Franklin, Wisconsin, attended the Miami Dolphins rookie minicamp in 2025. He also worked out for the Denver Broncos.

Collegiately, Meyer played four seasons at Wyoming (2020-23) with 67 tackles (34 solos, 33 assists), 8.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, one forced fumble, and two blocked kicks in 32 games for the Cowboys. Then, he transferred to USC in 2024 with 32 tackles (18 solos, 14 assists), two tackles for loss, one sack, three pass breakups, and one blocked kick in 13 games for the Trojans.

Xander Mueller is six foot three and weighs 235 pounds. A native of Wheaton, Illinois, attended the Kansas City Chiefs rookie minicamp in 2025.

Collegiately, Mueller played four seasons at Northwestern (2021-24) with 273 tackles (146 solos, 127 assists), 26 tackles for loss, nine sacks, six interceptions for 58 yards, two touchdowns, 14 pass breakups, three forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 45 games for the Wildcats.

He was named Third Team All-Big Ten in 2023, All-Big Ten Honorable Mention in 2024, and served as the team captain in 2024.

Eli Mostaert is six foot three and weighs 289 pounds. The 25-year-old from Lakeville, Minnesota, signed with the Edmonton Elks on September 9, 2025. He spent a week on the practice squad.

The Jacksonville Jaguars signed Mostaert as an undrafted free agent on May 9, 2025. In 2025, Mostaert made one tackle (1 assist) in two preseason games. The Jaguars released him on August 19, 2025.

Collegiately, Mostaert played six seasons at North Dakota State (2019-24) with 176 tackles (88 solos, 88 assists), 33 tackles for loss, 19.5 sacks, one interception for 35 yards, one touchdown, six pass breakups, one fumble recovery, and one blocked kick in 61 games for the Bisons. He helped the Bisons win three FCS National Championships in 2019, 2021, and 2024.

Mostaert was named a two-time All-MVFC Honorable Mention, Second Team All-MVFC, First Team All-MVFC, Second Team FCS All-American by CSC, Associated Press, and Phil Steele, and First Team FCS All-American by Stats Perform and FCS Football Central.
