The Penn State Nittany Lions (3-0) hosted the Villanova Wildcats (1-1), Rutgers Scarlet Knights (3-0) hosted the Norfolk State Spartans (1-2), and the Temple Owls (2-1) hosted the Oklahoma Sooners (3-0) on Saturday.
Penn State Nittany Lions 52, Villanova Wildcats 6
Penn State quarterback Drew Allar completed 16 of 29 passes (55.1%) for 209 yards, one touchdown, one interception, and two carries for 18 yards to lead the Nittany Lions to a 52-6 win over the Wildcats.
Running back Nicholas Singleton had 20 carries for 84 yards and two rushing touchdowns. Penn State’s offense had 465 yards (228 yards passing, 237 yards rushing). Penn State is off next week.
Rutgers Scarlet Knights 60, Norfolk State Spartans 10
Rutgers quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis completed 18 of 26 passes (69.2%) for 309 yards, one touchdown, and four carries for four yards to lead the Scarlet Knights to a 60-10 win over the Spartans.
Running back Antwan Raymond had 16 carries for 79 yards and two rushing touchdowns. Rutgers’s offense had 563 yards (378 yards passing, 185 yards rushing). Rutgers will play Iowa next Friday at 8 pm on Fox.
Oklahoma Sooners 42, Temple Owls 3
Temple quarterback Evan Simon completed 13 of 25 passes (52%) for 75 yards, and running back Jay Ducker had seven carries for 24 yards as the Owls were blown out by the Sooners 42-3. Temple will play Georgia Tech next Saturday at 4:30 pm on The CW.
