The B.C. Lions signed offensive lineman Brandon Yates and defensive lineman Bradlee Anae to the practice squad on Monday.
Brandon Yates is six foot four and weighs 210 pounds. A native of Middleton, Delaware, Yates went undrafted in 2025.
Collegiately, Yates played five seasons at West Virginia (2020-24) after sitting out as a redshirt freshman in 2019. He played both guard and tackle in 65 games for the Mountaineers. In 2024, West Virginia averaged 29.2 points per game, 210.3 passing yards per game, 193.7 rushing yards per game, 404 yards per game, 47 touchdowns, and allowed 27 sacks finishing 6-7 for the season.
Yates was named a two-time All-Big 12 Honorable Mention in 2020 and 2023, Second Team Academic All-Big 12 Conference in 2023, and First Team Academic All-Big 12 Conference.
Bradlee Anae is six foot three and weighs 260 pounds. The 27-year-old from Laie, Hawaii, signed with the San Francisco 49ers on August 4, 2025. In 2025, he made two tackles (2 assists) in one preseason game. The 49ers released him on August 18, 2025.
The Dallas Cowboys drafted Anae in the fifth round (179th pick) of the 2020 NFL Draft. He played two seasons in Dallas making two tackles (2 solos) in 11 games. He became a free agent after the 2021 season.
The New York Jets signed Anae on January 19, 2022. In 2022, he made two tackles (1 solo, 1 assist) and one sack in three preseason games. He spent the season on the practice squad. In 2023, he was placed on injured reserve and did not play the season. He became a free agent after the 2023 season.
The Atlanta Falcons signed Anae on May 13, 2024. In 2024, he made six tackles (3 solos, 3 assists) and 1.5 sacks in three preseason games. The Falcons released him on August 25, 2024. The Birmingham Stallions signed Anae on November 18, 2024.
The Stallions released Anae on December 18, 2024, and he signed with the New York Jets on the same day. He spent a few weeks on the practice squad and became a free agent after the season.
Anae signed with the Birmingham Stallions on January 16, 2025. In 2025, he made 15 tackles (13 solos, 2 assists), six tackles for loss, four sacks, and one pass breakup in eight games. In the playoffs, he made two tackles (2 assists).
Collegiately, Anae played four seasons at Utah (2016-19) making 135 tackles (86 solos, 49 assists), 41.5 tackles for loss, 30 sacks, four pass breakups, six forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 47 games for the Utes. He was named a two-time First Team All-PAC 12, Consensus All-American, and won the Morris Trophy in 2019.
