Penn State, Temple, and Rutgers pick up wins on Saturday

On Saturday, the Penn State Nittany Lions (2-0) shut out Florida International (1-1) 34-0, the Temple Owls (2-0) took down Howard (1-1) 55-7, and Rutgers (2-0) defeated Miami (OH) (0-2) 45-17.

Penn State quarterback Drew Allar completed 19 of 33 passes (57%) for 200 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Kaytron Allen had 16 carries for 144 yards, one touchdown, while Nicholas Singleton had 13 carries for 76 yards and one touchdown.

Wide receiver Devonte Ross made three catches for 61 yards and one touchdown, while Khalil Dinkins made one catch for nine yards and one touchdown.

Temple Owls 55, Howard 7

Temple quarterback Evan Simon completed 8 of 10 passes (80%) for 174 yards, three touchdowns, and eight carries for 34 yards. Jay Ducker, Hunter Smith, and Terrez Worthy combined with 24 carries logging 225 yards, and three touchdowns.

Kajiya Hollawayne, JoJo Bermudez, Colin Chase, and Joquez Smith combined to make six catches for 87 yards and four touchdowns.

Rutgers 45, Miami (OH) 17

Rutgers quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis completed 26 of 36 passes (72%) for 259 yards, four touchdowns, and 12 carries for 18 yards. Running back Antwan Raymond had 13 carries for 82 yards and two rushing touchdowns.

Ian Strong, K.J. Duff, and D.T. Sheffield combined to make 20 catches logging 224 yards and four touchdowns.
