Report: Birmingham Stallions sign wide receivers Ahmarean Brown and Devin Carter

The Birmingham Stallions signed wide receivers Ahmarean Brown and Devin Carter on Friday according to James Larsen.

Ahmarean Brown is five foot eight and weighs 170 pounds. The 24-year-old from Tampa, Florida, signed with the Cleveland Browns as an undrafted free agent on May 10, 2024. In 2024, he made two catches for 26 yards, one carry for one yard, and four kick returns for 88 yards in three preseason games. The Browns released him on August 27, 2024.

The Buffalo Bills signed Brown to the practice squad on September 26, 2024. They released him on October 17, 2024. The Birmingham Stallions drafted Brown in the eighth round (64th pick) of the 2024 UFL College Draft.

Collegiately, Brown played two seasons at Georgia Tech (2019-20) making 32 catches for 579 yards, eight touchdowns, three carries for one yard, one touchdown, 11 punt returns for 38 yards, and three kick returns for 59 yards in 19 games for the Yellow Jackets.

Then, he transferred to South Carolina (2021-23) making 60 catches for 557 yards, one touchdown, eight carries for 50 yards, seven punt returns for 62 yards, one kick return for no yards, and one tackle (1 solo) in 35 games for the Gamecocks.

Brown was named a two-time SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll (2021-22) and the 2022 Spring Co-Offense Most Improved Award.

Devin Carter is six foot three and weighs 214 pounds. The 22-year-old from Clayton, North Carolina, signed with the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted free agent on July 26, 2024. He did not play in the 2024 preseason due to an injury. The Panthers released him on September 6, 2024. The B.C. Lions signed Carter on January 14, 2025. He attended training camp and was released on May 14, 2025.

Collegiately, Carter played five seasons at N.C. State (2018-22) making 118 catches for 1,906 yards, 10 touchdowns, and three tackles (2 solos, 1 assist) in 49 games for the Wolfpack. Then, he transferred to West Virginia in 2023 making 27 catches for 501 yards, two touchdowns, and one tackle (1 solo) in 12 games for the Mountaineers.
