The Toronto Argonauts signed wide receiver Makai Polk to the practice squad on Tuesday.
Makai Polk is six foot three and weighs 197 pounds. The 24-year-old from Richmond, California, was released by the Argonauts on January 10, 2025, and he signed with the Atlanta Falcons on the same day. He attended training camp, and the Falcons released him on July 31, 2025.
The Baltimore Ravens signed Polk as an undrafted free agent on May 6, 2022. In the 2022 preseason, Polk made 8 catches for 72 yards in three games to earn a spot on the practice squad. He also spent time with the New York Giants before returning to Baltimore in 2023.
The Toronto Argonauts signed Polk on May 20, 2024. In 2024, Polk made 61 catches for 286 yards and five touchdowns in 17 games helping Toronto win the 111th Grey Cup over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. In the Grey Cup, Polk made four catches for 42 yards. He was named a CFL East All-Star in 2024.
Collegiately, Polk played two seasons at California (2019-20) making 36 catches for 478 yards and three touchdowns in 17 games for the Golden Bears. Then, Polk transferred to Mississippi State in 2021 making 105 catches for 1,046 yards, 9 touchdowns, and two tackles (2 solo) in 13 games for the Bulldogs. He was named Third Team All-SEC by Phil Steele.
