The Houston Roughnecks released linebacker Marvin Moody on Thursday. He is signing with the Cleveland Browns.
Marvin Moody is six foot two and weighs 230 pounds. The 26-year-old from Bryant, Arkansas, re-signed with the Houston Roughnecks on November 2, 2024. In 2025, he made 65 tackles (42 solos, 23 assists), one tackle for loss, one interception for 32 yards, one touchdown, and three pass breakups in 10 games.
Moody went undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft. Next, he was allocated to the St. Louis Battlehawks (XFL) in the 2023 XFL Draft. However, he did not play for the Battlehawks in 2023.
Then, he signed with the Houston Roughnecks on January 23, 2024. In 2024, Moody made 40 tackles (26 solos, 14 assists), two tackles for loss, and one pass breakup in 10 games.
The Roughnecks released him on August 20, 2024, and signed with the Cleveland Browns on August 21, 2024. Moody played one preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks making two tackles (2 solos). The Browns released him on August 26, 2024.
Collegiately, Moody played five seasons at Tulane (2017-21) making 243 tackles (143 solos, 100 assists), 19 tackles for loss, four sacks, three pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 59 games for the Mean Green.
