The Ottawa Redblacks signed defensive backs Tysen-Otis Copeland, Cameron Lockridge, and Bentlee Sanders to the practice squad on Monday.
Tysen-Otis Copeland is six foot one and weighs 203 pounds. The 27-year-old from Montreal, Quebec, played one preseason game for the Montreal Alouettes in 2024 recording no stats. In 2024, he played two games in the regular season recording no stats. The Alouettes released him on February 20, 2025.
The Montreal Alouettes drafted Copeland in the fourth round (33rd pick) in the 2022 CFL Draft. He attended training camp before the Alouettes released him on June 5, 2022. Montreal re-signed Copeland on May 10, 2023. In 2023, he made six tackles on special teams in nine games.
Copeland played for the John Abbott Islanders from 2015 to 2017. Collegiately, Copeland played three seasons at the University of Montreal (2018-19, 2021) making 36 tackles (31 solos, 5 assists), two forced fumbles, three interceptions for 26 yards, and four pass breakups in 20 games for the Carabins.
Cameron Lockridge is five foot eleven and weighs 181 pounds. A native of Tampa, Florida, Lockridge went undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft. He attended the Buffalo Bills rookie minicamp in 2025. The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed Lockridge on May 25, 2025. In 2025, he made one tackle in two preseason games. The Tiger-Cats released him on May 31, 2025.
Collegiately, Lockridge played one season at Reedley College in 2019 making 47 tackles (39 solos, 8 assists), one tackle for loss, four interceptions for 28 yards, and nine pass breakups in 11 games for the Tigers. He helped the Tigers win the NCFC American Title Game Championship.
Bentlee Sanders is five foot nine and weighs 175 pounds. The 26-year-old from Tampa, Florida, signed with the Calgary Stampeders on January 18, 2024. In 2024, he made 45 tackles, one interception, and two forced fumbles in 16 games. Sanders did not see any game action in 2025. The Stampeders released him on August 3, 2025.
Sanders attended the Philadelphia Eagles rookie minicamp in 2023. Next, the D.C. Defenders drafted him in the 2023 XFL Rookie Draft before the XFL merged with the USFL to become the United Football League (UFL).
Collegiately, Sanders played four seasons at the University of South Florida (2017-20) with 94 tackles (68 solos, 26 assists), 7.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, two interceptions for 43 yards, one touchdown, seven pass breakups, three forced fumbles, 36 kick returns for 880 yards, and three punt returns for eight yards in 32 games for the Bulls. He was named Second Team All-AAC by Phil Steele as a kick returner in 2018.
Then, Sanders transferred to Nevada (2021-22) making 69 tackles (51 solos, 18 assists), three tackles for loss, four interceptions for 34 yards, one touchdown, seven pass breakups, one forced fumble, 13 kick returns for 233 yards, and 11 punt returns for 110 yards in 20 games for the Wolfpack. He was named First Team All-WAC in 2022.
Next, he transferred to Hawaii (2020-21) making 73 tackles (58 solos, 15 assists), 5.5 tackles for loss, three interceptions for 88 yards, one touchdown, 11 pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 18 games for the Rainbow Warriors.
Then, he transferred to Fresno State (2022-24) making 90 tackles (58 solos, 32 assists), six tackles for loss, one sack, 11 interceptions for 210 yards, one touchdown, 17 pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 26 games for the Bulldogs.
In 2024, he made 39 tackles (20 solos, 19 assists), two tackles for loss, five interceptions for 86 yards, seven pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in nine games. Lockridge was named First Team All-MWC and Second Team All-American by HERO Sports.
