
The San Antonio Brahmas released defensive linemen Marcus Haynes and Nelson Ceaser on Thursday as they signed with NFL teams. Haynes signed with the Indianapolis Colts, and Ceaser signed with the Buffalo Bills.
Marcus Haynes is six foot four and weighs 240 pounds. The 27-year-old from Bowie, Maryland, signed with the San Antonio Brahmas on May 19, 2025. In 2025, Haynes made seven tackles (5 solos, 2 assists), two tackles for loss, and one sack in two games.
The Denver Broncos signed Haynes as an undrafted free agent on May 12, 2023. In 2023, he made five tackles (3 solos, 2 assists) and one pass breakup in three preseason games. He spent part of the season on the practice squad.
The Broncos released him on November 27, 2023, and he signed with the Houston Texans on February 16, 2024. The Texans released him on June 4, 2024. Haynes signed with the San Antonio Brahmas on August 2, 2024. San Antonio released him on August 6, 2024.
In 2024, he split his time with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cleveland Browns making three tackles (2 solos, 1 assist) in two preseason games. He spent the majority of the season on Pittsburgh’s practice squad before getting released on October 1, 2024, and the Browns re-signed him on October 9, 2024, and he spent the rest of the season on the practice squad. The Browns re-signed Haynes on January 6, 2025. They released him on May 12, 2025.
Collegiately, Haynes played six seasons at Old Dominion (2017-22) making 102 tackles (55 solos, 47 assists), 22 tackles for loss, 15 sacks, four forced fumbles, and five pass breakups in 49 games for the Monarchs.
Nelson Ceaser is six foot three and weighs 264 pounds. The 24-year-old from Missouri City, Texas, signed with the San Antonio Brahmas on April 16, 2025. In 2025, he made six tackles (3 solos, 3 assists) in six games.
The Seattle Seahawks signed Ceaser as an undrafted free agent on May 3, 2024. In 2024, he made three tackles (2 solos, 1 assist) in three preseason games. The Seahawks released him on August 27, 2024. The D.C. Defenders signed Ceaser on December 6, 2024. He attended training camp and was released on March 20, 2025.
Collegiately, Ceaser played five seasons at Houston (2019-23) making 103 tackles (59 solos, 44 assists), 28.5 tackles for loss, 18 sacks, one interception for 32 yards, four pass breakups, two forced fumbles, one forced fumble, and two blocked kicks in 41 games for the Cougars.
In 2023, he made 43 tackles (28 solos, 15 assists), 13.5 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks, one pass breakup, and one blocked kick in 11 games. He was named First Team All-Big XII.
