
The Michigan Panthers signed linebacker DaShaun White and released wide receiver Malik Turner on Tuesday according to the UFL Transactions page. James Larsen of Pro Football Newsroom reported that Turner is signing with the San Francisco 49ers.
DaShaun White is six foot and weighs 218 pounds. The 25-year-old from North Richland Hills, Texas, was released by the Michigan Panthers on August 20, 2024. He signed with the Las Vegas Raiders on August 21, 2024. White made two tackles (2 assists) in one preseason game. The Raiders released him on August 27, 2024.
The San Francisco 49ers signed White to their practice squad on September 3, 2024. White appeared in one regular season game against the Arizona Cardinals recording no stats. The 49ers released White on May 28, 2025.
The Michigan Panthers signed White in the fifth round (32nd pick) of the 2023 USFL Draft. White played four games for the Panthers with seven tackles (3 solo, 4 assists).
After the season, the Panthers released him to pursue an NFL contract which he signed with the Buffalo Bills on August 21, 2023. He played one preseason game against the Chicago Bears with one tackle. Then, White signed with the Michigan Panthers on September 11, 2023.
In 2024, White made nine tackles (7 solos, 2 assists), one tackle for loss, two pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in six games for the Michigan Panthers. The Panthers released him on May 23, 2024. He re-signed with the Panthers on June 4, 2024. He finished the season making 16 tackles (12 solos, 4 assists), one tackle for loss, two pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 7 games.
Collegiately, White played five seasons at Oklahoma (2018-22) with 259 tackles (126 solos, 133 assists), 19.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, two interceptions, two fumble recoveries, and eight pass breakups in 63 games, of which 49 were starts for the Sooners. He was a Big-12 Honorable Mention in 2022.
Malik Turner is six foot two and weighs 202 pounds. The 29-year-old from Springfield, Illinois, signed with the Michigan Panthers on January 8, 2025. In 2025, Turner made 40 catches for 365 yards, four touchdowns, and five punt returns for 35 yards in 10 games. In the playoffs, Turner made 16 catches for 267 yards and four touchdowns in two games helping the Panthers appear in the 2025 UFL Championship Game against the D.C. Defenders.
The Seattle Seahawks signed Turner as an undrafted free agent on July 29, 2018. He played two seasons in Seattle making 17 catches for 265 yards, one touchdown, and one tackle (1 solo) in 21 games. The Green Bay Packers signed Turner on August 12, 2020. There were no preseason games played, and Turner was released by the Packers on September 5, 2020.
The Dallas Cowboys acquired Turner via waivers on September 6, 2020. Turner played two seasons in Dallas making 12 catches for 149 yards, three touchdowns, and one tackle (1 solo) in 20 games. The San Francisco 49ers signed Turner on April 11, 2022. In 2022, Turner appeared in three games making two tackles (2 solos).
Turner also had stints with the Las Vegas Raiders, Houston Texans, and the Indianapolis Colts before returning to the 49ers on July 25, 2024. In 2024, Turner spent the majority of the season on the practice squad. The 49ers released him on November 6, 2024.
Collegiately, Turner played four seasons at Illinois (2014-17) making 143 catches for 1,804 yards, 10 touchdowns, two carries for five yards, one punt return for eight yards, and four tackles (4 solos) in 46 games for the Fighting Illini.
