The St. Louis Battlehawks released running back Jacob Saylors on Tuesday as he signed with the Detroit Lions.

Jacob Saylors is five foot ten and weighs 199 pounds. The 25-year-old from Jasper, Tennessee, re-signed with the St. Louis Battlehawks on November 4, 2024. In 2025, he had 113 carries for 499 yards, five touchdowns, and 22 catches for 245 yards in nine games.

The Cincinnati Bengals signed Saylors as an undrafted free agent on May 12, 2023. He had nine carries for 27 yards and two catches for 14 yards in one preseason game against the Washington Commanders in 2023. The Bengals released him on August 29, 2023.

The Atlanta Falcons signed Saylors on October 18, 2023, and he was placed on the practice squad. They released him on January 4, 2024. Then, Saylors signed with the St. Louis Battlehawks on February 5, 2024. In 2024, Saylors had 94 carries for 461 yards and five touchdowns, making 23 catches for 152 yards and three touchdowns in nine games. In the playoffs against San Antonio, Saylors had 14 carries for 78 yards and made one catch for 11 yards.

The Battlehawks released Saylors on June 17, 2024, and he signed with the New York Giants on June 18, 2024. He played in one preseason game for the Giants. The Giants released him on August 11, 2024, and he signed with the Cleveland Browns on August 22, 2024. Saylors played in one preseason game with five carries for 30 yards. The Browns released him on August 26, 2024.

Collegiately, Saylors played five seasons at East Tennessee State (2018-21) with 608 carries for 3,861 yards, 33 touchdowns, 91 catches for 779 yards, three touchdowns, and 57 kick returns for 1,425 yards in 51 games for the Buccaneers. He was named Second Team All-American by the Associated Press in 2021.
