The Houston Roughnecks re-signed long snapper Marco Ortiz for the 2026 season on Wednesday according to the UFL Transactions page.
Marco Ortiz is six foot four and weighs 253 pounds. The 25-year-old from Richmond, Virginia, attended the Los Angeles Chargers rookie minicamp in 2024. The Houston Roughnecks signed Ortiz on July 24, 2024. In 2025, he played ten games making two tackles (2 solos).
Collegiately, Ortiz played four seasons at Florida (2019-22) making one tackle (1 assist) in 16 games for the Gators. He was a three-time SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll (2019-21). Then, he transferred to Nebraska in 2023 playing 12 games for the Cornhuskers. He was named one of three national finalists for the Patrick Mannelly Award, which is presented annually to the top long snapper in the country.
