
The Edmonton Elk signed defensive backs Jerrell Cummings, Jaylin Williams, and Bryce Cosby to the practice squad on Sunday.
Jerrell Cummings is five foot eleven and weighs 195 pounds. The 23-year-old from Vancouver, British Columbia, signed with the Edmonton Elks on February 11, 2025. In 2025, he made one tackle in two preseason games. The Elks released him on May 31, 2025.
The Toronto Argonauts drafted Cummings in the fifth round (39th pick) in the 2024 CFL Draft. In 2024, Cummings played two preseason games recording no stats. The Argonauts released him on June 2, 2024.
Collegiately, Cummings played three seasons at Simon Fraser University (2019, 2021-22) making 106 tackles (72 solos, 34 assists), 6.5 tackles for loss, four interceptions for four yards, 35 pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 28 games for the Red Leafs. He was named a Canada West All-Star.
Then, Cummings transferred to the University of British Columbia (2023-24) making 51 tackles (31 solos, 20 assists), 2.5 tackles for loss, one interception for 15 yards, and one pass breakup in 15 games for the Thunderbirds.
Jaylin Williams is five foot ten and weighs 195 pounds. The 25-year-old from Southaven, Mississippi, signed with the B.C. Lions on February 11, 2025. In 2025, he made four tackles in one preseason game. He spent over a month on the practice squad. The Lions released him on July 9, 2025.
The Minnesota Vikings signed Williams as an undrafted free agent on May 12, 2023. In 2023, he made eight tackles (6 solos, 2 assists) and two pass breakups in three preseason games. Williams played three regular season games making one tackle (1 solo).
In 2024, he made eight tackles (3 solos, 5 assists) in three preseason games. The Vikings released him on September 10, 2024.

Bryce Cosby is five foot ten and weighs 185 pounds. The 26-year-old from Louisville, Kentucky, signed with the Montreal Alouettes on January 30, 2024. In 2024, he made 55 tackles, 12 tackles on special teams, one sack, and two interceptions in 18 games. In 2025, he made two tackles in two preseason games. The Alouettes released him on May 31, 2025.
The Las Vegas Raiders signed Cosby as an undrafted free agent on May 13, 2022. In 2022, he made 11 tackles (7 solos, 4 assists) and one pass breakup in four preseason games. In 2023, he made five tackles (4 solos, 1 assist) in three preseason games. The Raiders released him on August 27, 2023.
Collegiately, Cosby played five seasons at Ball State (2017-21) making 391 tackles (228 solos, 163 assists), 22.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, ten interceptions, 26 pass breakups, three forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries in 57 games for the Cardinals. He was named First Team All-MAC and the Arizona Bowl Defensive Player of the Game in 2020.
