The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed running back Shane Watts and punter Josh Green to the practice squad on Wednesday.
Shane Watts is five foot nine and weighs 195 pounds. A native of De Soto, Kansas, Watts attended the Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie minicamp in 2025.
Collegiately, Watts played four seasons at Fort Hayes State University (2021-24) with 334 carries for 1,979 yards, 18 rushing touchdowns, 61 catches for 606 yards, five touchdowns, one kick return for 17 yards, 18 tackles (14 solos, 4 assists), and one pass breakup in 44 games for the Tigers.
In 2024, he had 223 carries for 1,303 yards, 13 rushing touchdowns, 41 catches for 449 yards, four touchdowns, and one kick return for 17 yards in 11 games. Watts was named First Team All-MIAA, Second Team All-MIAA, Second Team All-American by AP, D2CCA, and the Don Hansen Football Committee. He was the first player in school history to with back-to-back 200-yard rushing games against Missouri Southern and Emporia State.
Josh Green is six foot one and weighs 216 pounds. A native of Adelaide, Australia, was drafted by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the first round (8th pick) of the 2025 CFL Global Draft. In 2025, he punted the ball 11 times for 519 yards (47.18 AVG) with a long of 72 yards in two preseason games. The Ticats released him on May 31, 2025.
Collegiately, Green played one season at Laney College in 2019 punting the ball 41 times for 1,560 yards (38.0 AVG), with a long of 59 yards, 11 from inside the 20-yard line, 10 fair catches, and four touchbacks in 11 games for the Eagles.
Then, he transferred to Oregon State (2022-24) punting the ball 66 times for 2,947 yards (44.7 AVG), with a long of 68 yards, seven touchbacks, 21 fair catches, 27 from inside the 20-yard line, and 20 from 50-plus yards in 29 games for the Beavers.
In 2024, he punted the ball 33 times for 1,559 yards (47.2 AVG), with a long of 68 yards, three touchbacks, 11 fair catches, 15 from inside the 20-yard line, and 16 from 50-plus yards in 12 games for the Oregon State Beavers. His 47.2 yards per punt set the Oregon State single-season record.
