Michigan Panthers re-sign OL Cam Carter and DE T.J. Carter

The Michigan Panthers re-signed offensive lineman Cam Carter and defensive end T.J. Carter on Thursday according to the UFL Transactions page.

Cam Carter is six foot six and weighs 310 pounds. The 27-year-old from Birmingham, Alabama, signed with the Michigan Panthers on April 7, 2025.

In 2025, he played six games, of which one was a start. Michigan averaged 24.5 points per game, 4.5 rushing yards per game, 199.3 passing yards per game, 327.1 total yards per game, and 29 touchdowns finishing 6-4 for the season and appearing in the 2025 UFL Championship Game.

The New Jersey Generals signed Carter on March 30, 2023. In 2023, he played nine games. New Jersey ranked seventh in passing yards (1,620), fifth in passing touchdowns (11), first in rushing yards (1,342), and fourth in rushing touchdowns (10) in the 2023 season.

The Houston Roughnecks signed Carter on February 28, 2024. In 2024, Carter played 10 games, of which 8 were starts. Houston’s offense ranked last in total touchdowns (17), seventh in total yards (2,550), rushing yards (744), yards per game (255.0), and fifth in passing yards (1,806).

Carter re-signed with the Houston Roughnecks on August 23, 2024. In 2025, Carter played two games. Houston is averaging 15 points per game, 4.6 rushing yards per game, 117.5 passing yards per game, 196 total yards per game, two touchdowns, and allowed five sacks.

Collegiately, Carter played four seasons at Murray State (2016-19) making four tackles (3 solos, 1 assist) in 38 games for the Racers.

T.J. Carter is six foot four and weighs 289 pounds. The 26-year-old from Atlanta, Georgia, re-signed with the Michigan Panthers on September 17, 2024. In 2025, he made 20 tackles (10 solos, 10 assists), three tackles for loss, one sack, and two pass breakups in ten games. In the playoffs, he made five tackles (2 solos, 3 assists) in two games.

Carter signed with the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent in 2020. He would later spend time with the New Orleans Saints and Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Michigan Panthers drafted Carter in the 24th round (193rd pick) of the 2022 USFL Draft. Carter made 24 tackles (11 solos, 13 assists), five tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, and one pass breakup in nine games for the Panthers in 2022.

Carter signed with the New Orleans Saints after the 2022 USFL season on August 9, 2022. It was his second stint with New Orleans. He made two tackles (2 assists) in one game before the Saints released him on August 15, 2022.

Then, Carter was acquired off waivers by the Los Angeles Rams on August 16, 2022. He made two tackles (1 solo, 2 assists) in two preseason games and spent the regular season on the practice squad. In the 2023 preseason, Carter made four tackles (3 solos, 1 assist) in three games before the Rams released him on August 29, 2023.

Carter re-signed with the Michigan Panthers on October 3, 2023. In 2024, Carter made 7 tackles (2 solos, 5 assists), one tackle for loss, and one sack in 9 games. He did not play in the USFL Conference Championship Game against the Birmingham Stallions.

After the season, the Panthers released him on August 19, 2024, and he signed with the Arizona Cardinals on August 20, 2024. He played one preseason game against the Denver Broncos making two tackles (2 solos). The Cardinals released him on August 27, 2024.

Collegiately, Carter played four seasons at Kentucky (2016-19) with 71 tackles (42 solos, 29 assists), 12 tackles for loss, six sacks, and five pass breakups in 50 games, of which 28 were starts for the Wildcats.
