The Montreal Alouettes released wide receiver Shedler Fervius and defensive lineman Jalen Harris from the practice squad on Monday.
Shedler Fervius is six foot one and weighs 190 pounds. The 26-year-old from Scarborough, Ontario, played in two preseason games recording no stats in 2025. He spent three weeks on the practice squad.
The Montreal Alouettes drafted Fervius in the fifth round (41st pick) in the 2023 CFL Draft. In 2023, he played in four games recording no stats. In 2024, he made seven catches for 87 yards in 12 games.
Collegiately, Fervius played three seasons at St. Mary’s University (2018-19, 2021) with 59 catches for 702 yards, one touchdown, 14 carries for 126 yards, 47 kick returns for 992 yards, one touchdown, four tackles (4 solos), and one forced fumble in 18 games for the Huskies. He played in the 2022 East-West Bowl.
Jalen Harris is six foot four and weighs 257 pounds. The 26-year-old from Gilbert, Arizona, signed with the Montreal Alouettes on May 15, 2025. In 2025, he made two tackles and one sack in two preseason games. He made one tackle in three regular season games.
The Chicago Bears signed Harris as an undrafted free agent on May 5, 2023. In 2023, he made five tackles (2 solos, 3 assists), 1.5 sacks, and one pass breakup in three preseason games and made the practice squad.
The Washington Commanders signed Harris off of Chicago’s practice squad on November 20, 2023. He made six tackles (5 solos, 1 assist) and one pass breakup in five games. In 2024, Harris made four tackles (4 solos) in three preseason games. The Commanders released him on August 27, 2024. The D.C. Defenders signed Harris on November 13, 2024. Harris was traded from the D.C. Defenders to the San Antonio Brahmas for defensive back Bryce Thompson on November 14, 2024. He attended training camp, and the Brahmas released him on March 20, 2025.
Collegiately, Harris played six seasons at Arizona (2017-22) making 171 tackles (98 solos, 73 assists), 26 tackles for loss, 14 sacks, 11 pass breakups, and three forced fumbles in 56 games for the Wildcats.
