
The Edmonton Elks signed defensive lineman Elijah Alston to the practice squad on Monday.
Elijah Alston is six foot two and weighs 256 pounds. The 24-year-old from Chesapeake, Virginia, attended the Buffalo Bills rookie minicamp in 2025.
Collegiately, Alston played four seasons at Marshall (2020-23) making 108 tackles (37 solos, 71 assists), 19.5 tackles for loss, one interception for 85 yards, one touchdown, five pass breakups, four forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 42 games for the Thundering Herd.
Alston was named Third Team All-Sun Belt Conference in 2023 after making 45 tackles (23 solos, 22 assists), 11.5 tackles for loss, one interception for 85 yards, one touchdown, three pass breakups, and two forced fumbles in 13 games.
Then, he transferred to Miami (FL) in 2024 making 19 tackles (11 solos, 8 assists), 3.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, one interception for three yards, and two pass breakups in eight games, of which four were starts for the Hurricanes.
