The Repco Supercars Championship kicked off the weekend with Race 17 at Hidden Valley Raceway for race one of the betr Darwin Triple Crown in Darwin, Northern Territory. Broce Feeney started the race on the pole with Cam Waters starting second.

The race started off with a safety car on the first lap when Jaxon Evans collided with Richie Stanaway sending Evans hard into the wall at Turn 4. On the restart, Cam Waters tried to make a move on Broc Feeney but Ryan Wood suffered an engine failure in the back leading to Jack Le Brocq getting sent into the wall by Cameron Hill. Meanwhile, David Reynolds got spun around by Nick Percat, which led the second safety car.

The race would restart on lap 11 with Broc Feeney still the leader. Feeney continued to lead until lap 27 when he went to pit road. Cam Waters and Brodie Kostecki followed him. Feeney emerged with the lead over Matt Payne, while Cam Waters made a four-tire pit stop.

With eight laps to go, Waters passed Payne for second place and began to hunt down Feeney. Feeney pulled away to beat Cam Waters by 1.727 seconds for his sixth win of the season. Matt Payne, Bryce Fullwood, and James Courtney rounded out the top five. Race 18 from Darwin happens at 1:40 am on YouTube.
