The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series visited Pocono Raceway on Friday afternoon in the MillerTech Battery 200. Layne Riggs started the race on the pole with Kaden Honeycutt starting second.

Corey Heim, who started third, cleared both Riggs and Honeycutt for the lead entering Turn 2. Heim led 48 laps in this race, including winning stage two, but suffered a flat right rear tire late in the race and finished in 24th place.

Layne Riggs led 25 laps including winning the first stage. Riggs led the final 16 laps after Carson Hocevar jumped the restart and served a penalty to win his first race of the season by 3.640 seconds over Tanner Gray. It was Ford’s first truck series win since Ryan Blaney did it in 2013. Kaden Honeycutt, Brandon Jones, and Daniel Hemric rounded out the top five.

Connor Mosack, Chandler Smith, Stewart Friesen, Ty Majeski, and Rajah Caruth rounded out the top ten. There were seven lead changes among four drives and four cautions for 24 laps. The other drivers to lead in the race were Stewart Friesen (4) and Rajah Caruth (3).

Out of those four cautions, one was major on lap 49 when Tyler Ankrum, Ben Rhodes, and Grant Enfinger made contact in a three-wide battle for 11th place. Ankrum and Enfinger both spun out, collecting Conner Jones, Clayton Green, and Dawson Sutton in the process.

The other caution involved Jake Garcia making contact with Kayden Honeycutt’s truck, and he later spun after making contact with Ty Majeski at the exit of Turn 1, sending him to the inside wall. The Craftsman Truck Series heads to Lime Rock Park next Saturday at 1 pm on FS1.
