
The B.C. Lions released defensive linemen Tre’ Crawford and Deshawn Stevens on Tuesday according to the CFL Transactions page.
Tre’ Crawford is six foot three and weighs 245 pounds. The 29-year-old from Houston, Texas, signed with the B.C. Lions on January 29, 2025. In 2025, Crawford played one preseason game recording no stats. He missed the first two weeks of the season due to a knee injury.
The Atlanta Falcons signed Crawford as an undrafted free agent on April 29, 2019. In 2019, he made eight tackles (5 solos, 3 assists), and one sack in four preseason games. The Falcons released him on August 31, 2019.
Next, Crawford signed with the Denver Broncos on December 30, 2019. There were no preseason games in 2020 and the Broncos released him on July 27, 2020.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed Crawford as a free agent on March 23, 2022. In 2022, Crawford made five tackles and one sack in five games. In 2023, he made 13 tackles, one tackle on special teams, three sacks, and one forced fumble in nine games. The Ticats released him on November 5, 2023.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed Crawford on December 26, 2023. In 2024, he made one tackle and one sack in two preseason games. The Roughriders released him on June 1, 2024.
Collegiately, Crawford played two seasons at Tyler Junior College (2015-16) making 96 tackles (80 solos, 16 assists), 2.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, one forced fumble, one interception, and two pass breakups in 18 games for the Apache.
Then, Crawford transferred to UAB (2017-18) making 47 tackles (34 solos, 13 assists), 12.5 tackles for loss, eight sacks, and two forced fumbles in 21 games for the Blazers.
Deshawn Stevens is six foot two and weighs 255 pounds. The 28-year-old from Toronto, Ontario, signed with the B.C. Lions on December 6, 2024. In 2025, he made one tackle in one preseason game. Stevens played one regular season game recording no stats, and missed last week with a hamstring injury.
The Ottawa Redblacks drafted Stevens in the first round (6th pick) of the 2021 CFL Draft. In three seasons, Stevens made 8 tackles and 10 tackles on special teams in 30 games. In 2024, Stevens played one game recording no stats. The Redblacks released him on July 22, 2024.
Collegiately, Stevens played four seasons at the University of Maine (2017-20) making 212 tackles (87 solos, 125 assists), 21.5 tackles for loss, 11.5 sacks, one pass breakup, one interception, one forced fumble, and three fumble recoveries in 29 games for the Black Bears.
He was named Second Team All-CAA and the FCS Hero Sports Sophomore First Team All-American in 2018 after making 120 tackles (53 solos, 67 assists), 17 tackles for loss, 9 sacks, one interception, two pass breakups, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries in 14 games.
Then, Stevens transferred to West Virginia in 2021 making 12 tackles (10 solos, 2 assists) in 12 games for the Mountaineers.
