
The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed running back Ka’Deem Carey, offensive lineman Darius Washington, and linebacker Braxton Hill on Monday.
Ka’Deem Carey is five foot nine and weighs 206 pounds. The 32-year-old from Tucson, Arizona, re-signed with the Argonauts on February 11, 2025. In 2025, he had three carries for 14 yards in one preseason game. The Argonauts released Carey on May 31, 2025.
The Chicago Bears drafted Carey in the fourth round (117th pick) of the 2014 NFL Draft. He played three seasons in Chicago with 111 carries for 443 yards, two touchdowns, 13 catches for 131 yards, and one touchdown in 37 games.
The Calgary Stampeders signed Carey on October 3, 2018. He was on the practice squad when the Stampeders won the Grey Cup over the Ottawa Redblacks. Carey played four seasons in Calgary with 492 carries for 2,855 yards, 19 touchdowns, 127 catches for 732 yards, one touchdown, and three tackles in 44 games.
In 2023, Carey had 89 carries for 476 yards, 29 catches for 156 yards, and one tackle in nine games. Carey is a two-time CFL West All-Star (2021-22) and a CFL All-Star in 2022.
The Toronto Argonauts signed Carey on February 14, 2024. In 2024, Carey had 191 carries for 1,060 yards, seven touchdowns, 37 catches for 356 yards, one touchdown, and two tackles in 18 games.
In the 111th Grey Cup, Carey had 15 carries for 79 yards, one touchdown, and three catches for 10 yards helping the Argonauts beat the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 41-24 to win their second Grey Cup title in three seasons.
Collegiately, Carey played three seasons at Arizona (2011-13) with 743 carries for 4,239 yards, 48 touchdowns, 77 catches for 679 yards, and four touchdowns in 36 games for the Wildcats. He was a two-time First Team All-Pac 12 (2012-13), two-time All-American (2012-13), and the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year in 2013.
Darius Washington is six foot four and weighs 310 pounds. A native of Pensacola, Florida, Washington attended the Denver Broncos rookie minicamp in 2025.
Collegiately, Washington played six seasons at Florida State (2019-24) playing 57 games for the Seminoles. He played 47 games as a starter, including 33 at left tackle, 11 at right tackle, and three at center.
In 2024, Washington started 10 games at left tackle. Florida State averaged 15.4 points per game, 270.3 yards per game, 180.3 passing yards per game, 89.9 rushing yards per game, and 19 touchdowns finishing 2-10 for the season. He won the Bill McGrotha Award in 2024.
Braxton Hill is six foot two and weighs 225 pounds. The 25-year-old from Anaconda, Montana, re-signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders on November 14, 2024. In 2025, he made six tackles and one tackle on special teams in two preseason games. The Roughriders released him on May 31, 2025.
Hill went undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft. The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed Hill on September 16, 2024, and spent several weeks on the practice squad. The Roughriders released him on October 13, 2024.
Collegiately, Hill played five seasons at Montana (2019-23) making 231 tackles (76 solos, 155 assists), 17 tackles for loss, nine sacks, two interceptions for 34 yards, one touchdown, eight pass breakups, and two fumble recoveries in 51 games for the Grizzlies.
In 2023, Hill made 128 tackles (43 solos, 85 assists), 7.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, two interceptions for 34 yards, one touchdown, five pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 15 games. He led the Big Sky Conference and finished fifth in the FCS with 128 tackles.
Hill was named First Team All-Big Sky Conference, Second Team All-American by STATS, Third Team All-American by Phil Steele and Associated Press, a two-time Academic All-Big Sky, Team Defensive MVP, Co-Recipient of Tony Barbour Award, and a Buck Buchanan Award Finalist.
