
The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series visited Michigan International Speedway on Saturday afternoon in the DQS Solutions & Staffing 250 Powered By Precision Vehicle Logistics. Luke Fenhaus started the race on the pole with Carson Hocevar starting second.
Corey Heim led 29 laps including winning both stages and finished in 18th place. The race saw nine cautions for 47 laps, including a major wreck on lap 122 involving Ross Chastain, Giovanni Ruggiero, Tanner Gray, Connor Mosack, Corey Heim, Daniel Hemric, Ty Majeski, Jack Wood, Chandler Smith, and Jake Garcia.
In addition to the cautions, the race was red-flagged for nearly 20 minutes on lap 88 when Nathan Byrd and Morgen Baird crashed hard at Turn 3 leaving crews to work on repairing the SAFER Barrier.
The other crashes that would come into play happened in overtime. Daniel Hemric cut a tire down before hitting the wall at Turn 3, sending the race into a second overtime. In the second overtime, a multi-truck crash on the backstretch involved Matt Mills, Jack Wood, and Tanner Gray.
In the final overtime, Stewart Friesen passed Grant Enfinger at Turn 3. Friesen led the final two laps to win his first race of the season by 0.111 seconds over Grant Enfinger. The rest of the top five finishers were Luke Fenhaus third, Ben Rhodes fourth, and Corey LaJoie fifth. Matt Crafton, Jake Garcia, Chandler Smith, Andres Perez, and Layne Riggs rounded up the top ten.
Carson Hocevar led 56 laps, the most of the race and finished in 11th place. There were 20 lead changes among 11 drivers.
