
The B.C. Lions released quarterback Hank Bachmeier, fullbacks Jacob Bond and Luka Stoikos, wide receiver Colton Meikle, and linebacker Chase Tataryn on Thursday.
Hank Bachmeier is six foot one and weighs 221 pounds. The 25-year-old from Murrieta, California, attended the San Francisco 49ers rookie minicamp in 2025. The B.C. Lions signed Bachmeier on May 21, 2025.
Collegiately, Bachmeier played four seasons at Boise State (2019-22) completing 536 of 870 passes (62%) for 6,605 yards, 41 touchdowns, 19 interceptions, 140 carries for 17 yards, three touchdowns, and one tackle (1 solo) in 29 games for the Broncos. He was named a two-time Academic All-Mountain West, and a two-time Mountain West Scholar-Athlete.
Next, he transferred to Louisiana Tech in 2023 completing 182 of 269 passes (68%) for 2,058 yards, 10 touchdowns, five interceptions, 58 carries for 47 yards, two touchdowns, and one tackle (1 assist) in nine games for the Bulldogs.
Then, he transferred to Wake Forest in 2024 completing 224 of 357 passes (63%) for 2,593 yards, 16 touchdowns, 10 interceptions, 96 carries for 140 yards, one touchdown, and one catch for one yard in 12 games for the Demon Deacons.
Jacob Bond is six foot three and weighs 236 pounds. The 22-year-old from Kelowna, British Columbia, signed with the B.C. Lions on May 5, 2025, as territorial exemptions. He played one preseason game mainly on special teams recording no stats.
Bond plays for the Okanagan Sun (CJFL) (2021-24) making 43 tackles (33 solos, 10 assists), six tackles on special teams, one sack, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, one carry for two yards, and one touchdown in nine games. He was named BCFC Defensive Player of the Year in 2024.
Luka Stoikos is five foot ten and weighs 233 pounds. The 21-year-old from Toronto, Ontario, was drafted by the B.C. Lions in the eighth round (67th pick) of the 2025 CFL Draft. In 2025, Stoikos appeared in one preseason game recording no stats.
Collegiately, Stoikos played four seasons at the University of Toronto (2021-24) with 111 carries for 601 yards, six touchdowns, four catches for 21 yards, 59 kick returns for 1,291 yards, three touchdowns, one punt return for no yards, 14 tackles (10 solos, 4 assists), and a half tackle for loss in 29 games for the Varsity Blues. He was named a two-time MVP.
Colton Meikle is six foot four and weighs 214 pounds. The 20-year-old from signed with the B.C. Lions on May 5, 2025. He played one preseason game contributing on special teams and recording no stats.
Meikle plays for the Kamloops Broncos (CJFL) (2021-24) making 34 catches for 533 yards, three touchdowns, and eight tackles (6 solos, 2 assists) in 11 games.
Chase Tataryn is five foot ten and weighs 212 pounds. The 21-year-old from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, was drafted by the B.C. Lions in the sixth round (50th pick) of the 2025 CFL Draft. In 2025, he made one tackle and one tackle on special teams in one preseason game against the Calgary Stampeders.
Collegiately, Tataryn played four seasons at the University of Alberta (2021-24) making 139 tackles (91 solos, 48 assists), 11 tackles for loss, six sacks, one interception, two pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 28 games for the Golden Bears.
