The St. Louis Battlehawks released quarterback Trae Self and activated quarterback Chevan Cordeiro from the injured reserve list on Monday according to the UFL Transactions page.

Trae Self is six foot four and weighs 190 pounds. The 25-year-old from North Richland Hills, Texas, went undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft. The St. Louis Battlehawks signed Self on April 11, 2025. He was on the inactive list for several weeks.

Collegiately, Self played two seasons at Butler Community College (2017-18) completing 130 of 280 passes (46.4%) for 1,773 yards, 15 touchdowns, seven interceptions, 63 carries for -25 yards, four rushing touchdowns, and one tackle (1 solo) in 13 games for the Grizzlies. He helped the Grizzlies win the 2018 Midwest Classic Bowl.

Then, he transferred to Stephen F. Austin (2019-22) completing 801 of 1,361 passes (59%) for 10,336 yards, 74 touchdowns, 36 interceptions, 297 carries for 636 yards, 15 rushing touchdowns, punting the ball five times for 198 yards (39.6 AVG), with a long of 48 yards, four from inside the 20-yard line, and two tackles (2 solos) in 43 games for the Lumberjacks. In 2022, he was named to the Walter Payton Watch List.

Chevan Cordeiro is six foot one and weighs 200 pounds. The 25-year-old from Honolulu, Hawaii, signed with the St. Louis Battlehawks on December 19, 2024. Cordeiro injured his hamstring and has not seen any action for the Battlehawks in 2025.

The St. Louis Battlehawks drafted Cordeiro in the first round (5th pick) of the 2024 UFL College Draft. The Seattle Seahawks signed Cordeiro as an undrafted free agent on May 3, 2024, and was released on May 8, 2024.

Collegiately, Cordeiro played four seasons at Hawaii (2018-21) completing 489 of 835 passes (59%) for 6,167 yards, 45 touchdowns, 22 interceptions, 295 carries for 1,083 yards, 13 touchdowns, punted the ball five times for 180 yards (36.0 AVG) with a long of 53 yards, one from inside the 20-yard line, and one from 50-plus yards, and two tackles (2 solos) in 36 games for the Rainbow Warriors.

Then, he transferred to San Jose State (2022-23) completing 482 of 789 passes (61.1%) for 6,024 yards, 43 touchdowns, 10 interceptions, 219 carries for 537 yards, 12 touchdowns, and one catch for 19 yards in 25 games for the Spartans. He was named Second Team All-Mountain West in 2022 and First Team All-Mountain West in 2023.
