The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed running back Treshaun Ward and linebacker Kyler Fisher on Friday. They also placed offensive lineman Darrin Paulo on the suspended list and released offensive lineman John Kourtis.

Treshaun Ward is five foot ten and weighs 190 pounds. A native of Plant City, Florida, transferred to Boston College in 2024 with 77 carries for 406 yards, two touchdowns, 15 catches for 268 yards, and four touchdowns in 11 games for the Eagles. He finished third on the team in all-purpose yards and second in rushing yards in 2024.

Collegiately, Ward played four seasons at Florida State (2019-22) with 188 carries for 1,241 yards, 12 touchdowns, 28 catches for 210 yards, one touchdown, two kick returns for 46 yards, one punt return for 11 yards, and one tackle (1 solo) in 12 games for the Seminoles. He was named an All-ACC Honorable Mention in 2022.

Next, he transferred to Kansas in 2023 with 124 carries for 643 yards, five touchdowns, completed one pass for eight yards, one touchdown, 17 catches for 129 yards, two touchdowns, and seven kick returns for 132 yards in 11 games for the Wildcats. He was named an All-ACC Honorable Mention in 2023.

Kyler Fisher is five foot eleven and weighs 201 pounds. A native of Farnhamville, Iowa, Fisher made 26 tackles (16 solos, 10 assists), two tackles for loss, one forced fumble, and one pass breakup in 11 games for the Iowa Hawkeyes in 2024.

Collegiately, Fisher played five seasons at Iowa (2020-24) making 64 tackles (41 solos, 23 assists), 5.5 tackles for loss, one sack, two forced fumbles, and two pass breakups in 58 games for the Hawkeyes.

John Kourtis is six foot four and weighs 275 pounds. The 25-year-old from Toronto, Ontario, was drafted by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the seventh round (61st pick) in the 2024 CFL Draft. In 2024, Kourtis appeared in two preseason games.

The Ticats released him on June 1, 2024, and he returned to Saskatchewan for his final collegiate season. Hamilton re-signed Kourtis on November 29, 2024.

Collegiately, Kourtis played five seasons at Liberty (2018-22) playing guard and center in 34 games for the Flames. Then, Kourtis transferred to the University of Saskatchewan (2023-24) playing 19 games for the Huskies.

In 2024, Kourtis played 10 games. Saskatchewan’s offense averaged 28.50 points per game, 154.0 rushing yards per game, 297.60 passing yards per game, 431.0 total yards per game, and 34 touchdowns finishing 7-4 in the season and making it to the Hardy Cup where they lost to Regina 19-14.
