Montreal Alouettes sign DE Jalen Harris, release two players

The Montreal Alouettes signed defensive end Jalen Harris and released wide receiver Kyric McGowan and defensive end Jordan Domineck on Thursday according to the CFL Transactions page.

Jalen Harris is six foot four and weighs 257 pounds. The 26-year-old from Gilbert, Arizona, was traded from the D.C. Defenders to the San Antonio Brahmas for defensive back Bryce Thompson on November 14, 2024. He attended training camp, and the Brahmas released him on March 20, 2025.

The Chicago Bears signed Harris as an undrafted free agent on May 5, 2023. In 2023, he made five tackles (2 solos, 3 assists), 1.5 sacks, and one pass breakup in three preseason games and made the practice squad.

The Washington Commanders signed Harris off of Chicago’s practice squad on November 20, 2023. He made six tackles (5 solos, 1 assist) and one pass breakup in five games. In 2024, Harris made four tackles (4 solos) in three preseason games. The Commanders released him on August 27, 2024. The D.C. Defenders signed Harris on November 13, 2024.

Collegiately, Harris played six seasons at Arizona (2017-22) making 171 tackles (98 solos, 73 assists), 26 tackles for loss, 14 sacks, 11 pass breakups, and three forced fumbles in 56 games for the Wildcats.

Kyric McGowan is five foot eleven and weighs 198 pounds. The 25-year-old from Dalton, Georgia, signed with the Montreal Alouettes on January 30, 2025.

The Washington Commanders signed McGowan as an undrafted free agent on May 6, 2022. He also spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Miami Dolphins. McGowan made 10 catches for 94 yards, one touchdown, one carry for nine yards, seven kick returns for 139 yards, and four punt returns for 34 yards in 10 preseason games.

Collegiately, McGowan played four seasons at Northwestern (2017-20) making 68 catches for 802 yards, two touchdowns, 55 carries for 352 yards, two touchdowns, 22 kick returns for 531 yards, and one punt return for -8 yards in 42 games for the Wildcats.

Then, he transferred to Georgia Tech in 2021 making 37 catches for 467 yards, seven touchdowns, one kick return for three yards, and four punt returns for nine yards in 11 games for the Yellow Jackets.

Jordan Domineck is six foot three and weighs 250 pounds. The 25-year-old from Lakeland, Florida, went undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft. The Montreal Alouettes signed Domineck on May 20, 2024. In 2024, he made 10 tackles in five games.

Collegiately, Domineck played four seasons at Georgia Tech (2018-21) making 103 tackles (54 solos, 49 assists), 17.5 tackles for loss, nine sacks, six forced fumbles, and two pass breakups in 31 games for the Yellow Jackets. In 2020, Domineck led Georgia Tech in sacks (4) and ranked second in tackles for loss (8.5).

Next, Domineck transferred to Arkansas in 2022 making 34 tackles (19 solos, 15 assists), 9.5 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles in 13 games for the Razorbacks.

Then, Domineck transferred to Colorado in 2023 making 51 tackles (31 solos, 20 assists), 12 tackles for loss, five sacks, two pass breakups, one fumble recovery, and one punt return for seven yards in 12 games for the Buffaloes.
